You seem to have an awfully short memory about Intel and their history with prices.
This is Intels' brand spanking new shiny baby and as far as they are concerned what competition!

You will absolutely be paying for that privilege!

Funny how people complain about AMD for charging premium when they are the best and it seems to be AOK when Intel do it !

Ryzen prices and availability are very good now and have been for some time .
Price cuts for Ryzen may happen depending on how well Alder Lake actually performs with credible reviews .
Just for clarity 12900K is the same price as 5950X here in Oz . $1099 . You are paying for that privlege, Absolutely !
Unfortunately it sold out in less than a day so stock is very light on the ground! Go figure! So your cheap prices for 12900k is a pipe dream ! What was it, $589 US in qty of 1000, is a long way from reality ! Well it certainly is in the rest of the world! In the USA maybe less so .
The other 12700k and 12600k however are much better priced at $729 and $519 respectively ! Both are more than ryzen 5800x at $629 and 5600x at $449 and 5900X is $799.
There are heaps of Ryzens available and have been for quite a while .
Raptor Lake would be a much better investment prices will settle down on motherboards and ddr5 and win11 will be much better sorted ! Maybe even win10 too for big little cores!
Hopefully by then Zen 4 will be out, and they will be fully engaged in a price war . Hehe
