[INTEL]-How To Update Your Microcode for Intel HX 13/14th Gen. CPUs Laptops/Mobile Easily.

its i9 13900hx on my predator 16-71
Did you try turning virtualisation off in windows? If so, what about in the bios? Some people had to do that I remember reading.

@THEBOSS619 also mentions doing the updates in order, but I'm not sure if thats strictly necessary. Still, maybe thats it? Anyway I'm sure he'll know better than me.

Why don't you fill out your system specs in meantime so he can see what he's working with. Its a good idea to have them filled out on here anyway.

So virtualisation and VT-d are disabled. I tried to install updates by order also but it didnt work. On my predator its installed BIOS 1.16 (lastest one) and microcode is 11D.

Thanks for the heads up @iameatingjam :respect:keeping up with multiple PMs and notification from forums, discord, reddit, etc is hard :D

@MadShawn Does your BIOS have VTX option as well? Disable that and try again.

Wow thank you so much, it worked !!! Is there more steps? I Need to put voltage to 1400, can you help me with that steps please ? :)

Oh great to here! :)

Regarding putting voltage limit, there's a SERP tool , someone shared it here if you go to a couple pages back which can allow you to have access to hidden BIOS settings, but it is not really necessary when using the latest microcode ;) it's risky but it is your choice.

Hello THE BOSS619, much thanks for the detailed help with microcode updation. I saw noticeably smaller temp spikes after updating from 120 to 12F.

Unfortunately, after updating Intel ME firmware from the default v16.1.30.2255 I had to the latest v16.1.38.2676 you provided on page 5, I noticed a much more frequent temp variation (compared with microcode 12F running with v16.1.30.2255). More importantly, I started seeing loading icon after POST animation for 6-8 seconds thus increasing boot time.

On checking with MEAnalyzer, I noticed 3 differences b/w original Intel ME firmware and v16.1.38.2676 installed from https://www.elevenforum.com/t/firmware-intel-me-h610-b660-h670-z690-b760-h770-z790.11362/: PMC version difference, Flash Image Tool version difference and OEM configuration=NO.

I've tried reflashing the BIOS in hopes of reverting ME to default but got error. Also tried reverting BIOS to deafult but no improvement. Desperately wondering if there's any reliable way to rollback Intel ME version to default or rectify these isssues without that, if possible. Would greatly appreciate any help with this, thanks in advance!

Specs: Acer PH16-72
Intel i9 14900HX, Intel HM770 (Raptor Lake-S PCH) chipset
Running BIOS v1.10
