What kind of motherboard do you have? Some manufacturers make software for overclocking on their motherboards.

You can't unlock any intel chips. Unless you mean raise the FSB. I'm willing to bet it's a 533FSB, and a 20x multi, like my old Northwood. I use a program called CPUFSB, it's really handy! :D

Your BIOS should have OC'ing cababilities since your mobo has C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall). Boot into your BIOS and have a look around. There are pleanty of guides out there to help.

By the way you can open four different CPUZ's to take a single screen shot ;)

I dont think unlocking your multiplyer is the key. Generally you can leave the multiplyer at it's highest setting and raise the FSB.

With a high multiplier like you have, it'll be easy to go to 3.0ghz. But take it easy, check your temps first before you start. Your CPU voltage is kinda high, but usually the cheaper boards set the cpu voltage by itself and you can't adjust it.

I would suggest that you stay under 60*C under load. Use realtemp or OCCT to check your temps before you start. Then post back here:)

either you selected the wrong pll, or you forgot to lock your agp/pci clocks in bios
you guys forgot to tell him to lock his clocks!!!

also, do you have a sata drive? usually older boards might have problems with locking the sata bus speed

Use bios to overclock.

Another thing, 2.66 GHz models aren't good overclockers, you'd be better off with a 2.4 GHz one...

I took my ex 2.4 GHz Northwood Celeron to 3.2 GHz easily...

Also fill in the system specs in your profile

your going to have to open your comp and try to find the PLL chip, its got a number on it and just write it down
and in bios it always depends on where the locks are, or any other settings for that matter. not all mobos bio's are made the same
just play around in there, and dont change anything that you dont know about
