Thanks to Intel and its Game On website, fans of Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 title can now enjoy 3 more hours of their favourite game, playing several bonus maps. These explosive bonus missions are kindly available for free here thanks to Intel.

3 hours of new game play brought to you by Intel
These bonus missions extend Far Cry 2's game play by a whole 3 gripping hours. They bristle with extraordinarily coolness, and make the most of Far Cry 2's signature graphical excellence and real-world physics modelling. Intel collaborated with developers Ubisoft Montreal, to ensure that both missions bring out the best in Far Cry 2's unique hyper-real depiction of war-ravaged Africa. Make no mistake: this is the stuff your Intel Core 2 Extreme was made for.

Mission 1: the Morrocan
This mission sends you into the most heavily guarded region of the Leboa-Sako territory. Hiding out at the old Legion fort is a Moroccan who might be able to help you locate the Jackal. Your objective is to locate him and find out what he knows.

Mission 2: the American
Your predecessor has tracked down the American informant to the Dogon village in the rocky northern ranges. Your objective: follow his trail and find out what the informant told him.

How to get these missions
These bonus missions are two of six in total that you can unlock and play. When you complete the first six, you will be able to play a seventh bonus mission.

However, the two missions brought to you by Intel Game On can only be unlocked by downloading and running the exclusive Intel Game On program below. Simply run FarCry2IntelMissions.exe from your PC to get access to the first mission: 'The Morrocan'. Completing that mission unlocks the second mission: 'The American'.

There's no time to lose. Pick up the Moroccan's trail now.

Not stated the game yet. But extra missions is much appreciated, thanks.

[Edit] The link on the site doesn't work :( I get a 403-forbidden error) Do you have an alternate download site?[/Edit]

Try hitting the link several times ... for some reason sometimes it does not work, but after a few attempts it will let you save the content.

so these are in a standalone app?

Yay! 3 more hours of mind-numbing dull monotony. How I love driving from A to B to A to C to A to D etc etc. Hehe, I'm sure some people will be loving this but I got bored of Far Cry 2 about 75% of the way into it. if it wasn't for the beautiful graphics, I'd have not got past the 1st mission.

I'm still enjoying it, about 40% in now..curse you APR! /mourn

75%? Congrats! I envy your patience. I couldn't get past 45%. Later I decided I had to "enjoy" what I paid for and continued, the new map entertained me until 60% or so.

It's still there, waiting to be finished. I have it in the same list as re-painting my bedroom and finishing some shelves I wanted to add there. You know, things I have to do, but I don't have time, nor the required desire to do it.

I agree, I dont think the game is a total loss, but it isnt what I had hoped it to be!? So maybe intel should instead of giving more missions, rewrite the whole game and make it great?? That would be really great, use the graphics engine but give the world more life and make the missions more diverse??

What really bugs me is that in the intro scene you see a lot of civilians and the whole scene looks alive. But once you start the game there's not the slightlest sign of life there, only bad guys with guns. Sure civilians are migrating in the intro, but there's no one left? they have not left anything behind?

They should improve that too in the meantime.

Also, I know african animals are in danger of extintion and all, but come on! I think I have seen 10 animals in the 20 hours I already played! And I'm sure 5 of them are in reality the same one that traveled a bit, while I was elsewhere. Where's all those animals we could see in the trailers??

I know, so much potential wasted. I think they put 80% of the man-power into the graphics dept. and the rest into gameplay.

They had too many projects open at the same time. Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, FarCry 2 and Prince of Persia. The talent was too dilluted. I somehow knew this could happen, but I always hoped it wouldn't. Although R6V2 and AC should have served me as the indications that probably FC2 would also be left scratching the surface of the great game it could have been.

Hmmm .... it looks like this only works on retail versions, the installer can't locate my steam installed FC2. :banghead:

@DarkMatter
(you missed out BIA:HH)
They don't distribute programmers...
This is the typical result of placing the license in the hands of a publisher.
Thank goodness we will be seeing FEAR 2 as it was intended by the original developers.

Nope, that one is made (published) by Ubisoft, but not by the developer Ubisoft Montreal. Yeah I now is confusing. Anyway after a quick look into the wiki the 2007-2008 games they released are:

# Assassin's Creed (2007) (PC/PS3/Xbox 360)
# Naruto: Rise Of A Ninja (2007) (Xbox 360)
# Lost: Via Domus (2008) (PC/PS3/Xbox 360)
# Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (2008) (PC/PS3/Xbox 360)
# Far Cry 2 (2008) (PC/PS3/Xbox 360)
# Shaun White Snowboarding (2008) (PC/PS3/PSP/Xbox 360)
# Naruto: The Broken Bond (2008) (Xbox 360)
# Prince of Persia (2008) (PC/PS3/Xbox 360)

So yeah, I missed out some, I guess. No wonder their quality has gone down so much... :ohwell:

I just want F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin!!, i was going to get FC2 but i have been hearing people hating it alot.

I also want L4D. Loved the demo.

Bah, I finished the game but I was throwing junk at the screen ahen I got around 50%. The second half of the game is MUCH faster than the first, but that still won't ever have me playing this trash again.

i finally finished this game last night, just so i could say i beat it, i then immediately uninstalled the agme... also, what a dissapointing ending.. i mean, that was really lame, on top of the repetitive gameplay... kinda feel like i wasted my time.

As long as you don't realize you wasted your money as I did. Ooops!! Sorry. :banghead::D
Still at 60% and TBH I'm more and more interested in taking it again with each and every supportive post.
