Other than that, I don't mind BGA for my secondary computers, which never get upgrades or have a need for bleeding edge speed. Unfortunately, it amounts to getting less for the same price or more because there will be a manufacturing savings but we wont see any trickle down savings, it's been proven that that concept doesn't work.

It's going that way anyway, so no changes there.

The second part is speculation. I personally do not think it'll change anything.

Seems to be a lot of doom and gloom considering the BGA roadmap shown falls way short of the LGA roadmap that covers -at the very least- the next two and a half years

As for BGA, it's probably a forgone conclusion if the die package includes eDRAM. Criticality of electrical contact between pin-outs and PCB traces seems to require a BGA arrangement when eDRAM is involved.

Well sorry, I didn't take it. Sometimes with leaked info the resolution isn't always the best. Maybe a moratorium is in order...no leaked info until HD (or better) quality pictures are available...get these damned irresponsible sites up to speed.

BGA is for the scrubs we know that are basic. They need to keep LGA if they are gonna be looking forward to sell servers and high end desktops. Correction: They HAVE to.

I'm thinking those all-in-ones will benefit from this. OEM's are a good example as well, but other then that I will sacrifice performances for a Pin based socket with AMD thanks.
