I was looking to buy a couple of Intel's new BE200 WiFi 7 modules for my computers.

Upon looking it up on Mouser i found that they have 4 different versions of the same module as you can see here:

BE200.D2WG.NV

BE200.NGWG.NV

BE200.D2WG.NVX

BE200.NGWG.NVX

What are the difference between these very similar looking modules?

I am intending to install them into the M.2 slot of a couple of regular desktop motherboards
(these boards do have a dedicated M.2 slot for WiFi modules if that makes a difference).

I think it is the size of the cards, 2230 or 1216 and vpro or no vpro

Thank you very much for that link.

Didn't notice the 2230/1216 sizes at first, so that eliminates two of the modules for me (since i need 2230).

So the choice would be between these two modules in my case:

BE200.NGWG (2230, vPro) (Mouser lists this one as BE200.NGWG.NVX instead of BE200.NGWG)

BE200.NGWG.NV (2230, No vPro)

Now i just need to figure out if i need vPro or not lol.

No data sheet provided. Your guess is as good as any.

All are non-vpro

Looks like some of them have vPro after all (even though Mouser doesn't say so on their site).

Whatever you do stay away from the BE202! (I have to say intel's naming conventions really have gotten out of hand lately - first they name the neutered step-sibling of the BE200, the BE202. When they know people looking for wifi 7 card are not going to do their research and are going to buy them, thinking the BE202 must be the better card, BUT now we have this Ultra nonsense. and 14th gen processors at the same time. Madness)

I bought a BE200 on amazon back in November that I don't have any complaints with so far (link below)

I don't intend to get the BE202 as it's only 160 Mhz (which is essentially the same as WiFi 6E).
That's why I'm only looking at the BE200 options (which are 320 Mhz).

But what's the thing about 14th Gen processors? Does the BE200/202 only work on Intel's latest 14th Gen CPU's?

D2WG = 1216
NGWG = 2230
NV = No vPro

My guess would be that "no vPro" means it's a standard M.2 module, whereas the others are CNVi modules. In short, the one you probably want is BE200.NGWG.NVX.

The BE200/202 do not need Intel 14th Gen CPUs.

There is however the issue of OS support. This is an extract from the Intel Release Notes for the latest version of the Windows WiFi drivers

"...For the new Intel Wi-Fi 7 products - Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE202 and Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200

All Intel Wi-Fi 7 products support the 6GHz band for Wi-Fi. Usage of the 6GHz band relies on Microsoft Windows (Windows 11) Operating System support. The products have limited functionality on Windows 10.

The Wi-Fi 7 features are not currently available because of pending OS (Windows 11) support. As a result, after installing the drivers, the Intel Wi-Fi 7 products function with Wi-Fi 6E capabilities on Windows 11.

The Intel’s Wi-Fi 7 product 'Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200' will support Wi-Fi 6E + 320 MHz/4K QAM (known as EHT - Extremely High Throughput) by default when connecting to a Wi-Fi 7 wireless router/AP...".

I have NGWG version on order for some time now to replace my Wi-Fi 6e card.

I would suggest you learn your Wi-Fi stuff because windows 10 is a nightmare when compared to windows 7 drivers. I don't know if it's the lack of ability to directly input the MAC Address or the transmission power output is ever so slightly lower when compared to windows 7, but one thing is for sure. Windows 10 drops out more when using the same hardware. I've just started to dig deep why this is happening,

Anyway read & learn advance settings. I have a feeling some of you are going to need it. ..See here Advanced Intel® Wireless Adapter Settings

OFF TOPIC:

Has anyone ever damage an antenna socket?

Long story short, One of the antenna socket was faulty. Other than sending it back due to low cost, I ended up soldering a donor socket from an older card. Anyone doing this kind of repair the socket only go's in one-way. It's the very first time I did this kind of repair.. ..BE200 card is up & running, but I've yet to connect to Wi-Fi 6/7 network.

I will delete this posting if nobody finds it useful.

Interresting maybe I should go WiFi 7 on my T480 and my M720q what I don't really get is Proshop marks the BE200.D2WG.NVX as a Killer card I know Intel owns the brand now plus they leave a note for all the AMD fans.

BE200.NGWG.NVX

BE200.NGWG.NV
1708243120180.png

Why 2 different models? I would personally go BE200.NGWG.NV not much for the Killer branding in the past I had a lot of problems.

*Edited wrong sku number sorry*
