I didnt know where to post this so I posted this here.
So I've been getting this problem for about 2 weeks now. It doesnt happen randomly. It only happens when I'm running Rainbow Six Siege and I minimize it to let's say google something or run my MP3 player ( since I like to farm Terrorist Hunt while listening to music ). After 2-3 minutes of being minimized my computer freezes and BSOD pops up with the stop_code of "IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal". This however only happens when minimizing Six Siege and not any other game such as FIFA 18 or Wolfenstein The New Order/The Old Blood. I'm sorry if I posted this in a wrong forum but I couldnt really find a suitable forum for this. Would appreciate it a lot if someone helps me out

Is this a new computer? Have you changed anything with the hardware at the start of the two weeks? Especially, did you add more memory?

No this is a computer that I built about a year ago, however my old HDD ( 2TB Seagate Barracuda ) had a memory problem and I had to change it with a Hitachi 3TB HDD. That being said, I had 8GB of Ram installed in my computer but the computer only recognized 4GB so I had to change the DIMM's in which the ram sticks were placed ( now it shows 8GB ) so yea in a way I did add more memory

Did you mess with the RAM sticks about two weeks ago? If yes, that may be your problem.
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z170x-gaming5_e.pdf

Going away from the CPU, one stick should be in the second slot and one stick should be in the fourth slot. If that is already the way they are configured, try running one at a time from the second slot. If one IRQLs and the other doesn't, you've identified your bad stick.

Yea I think it was about 2-3 weeks ago that I did infact change my Ram Sticks, I'll try doing the slot thing you mentioned. Thanks. However I have 4 Ram sticks, each of 2GB

then its possible that you may need to manually set the timings and voltage, your not running XMP are you?

Oh! Then yeah, odds are one or more of them is bad. IRQL is usually a memory error.

take a look at those rams, some rams run good on mix and match but some will freeze your pc when you mix and match them

if it's only siege, if it's crossfire, i'm going to blame the driver first...

try with CF disabled, try borderless windowed

are you saying if you reopen the game before 2min, it's ok? & you can then reminimize?

umm since it hapeened on one game, have you tried to change something that may affect it like resolution or effect? then test it again

If your computer auto restarts on BSOD find the setting in windows to make it stop.
Second step is to look for the error code of the BSOD.
Perhaps easier would be to use an online application such as bluescreen viewer.
Once you know which driver is causing the problem you can look further into fixing it.

Run HCI memtest or the regular memtest. IRQL not less or equal is faulty memory or memory misconfig most of the time.
