Is it Bottleneck on this system possible ?

Good luck.... above 5.1 other than for short benchmarks is pretty difficult unless you are on sub ambient cooling.

So what would be sweet OC for i9 9900k?

Is it capable to get 5.5Ghz for day to day use?

No most chips do 5.0 but some are stuck at 4.9.... very few can do 5.1 and above for daily use unless using open loop cooling and even then maybe 5.2.... The better binned 9900KS does around 5.1-5.2. 10th gen chips seem to be able to get to around 5.3 especially the 10900k.

Well is obvious i9 9900k and since I got 240mm EKB water cooler I will get this CPU to 5.5Ghz I do believe this is great OC for this chip :)
You have no chance of that. Sorry.

As oxo said... 5ghz...sure. But your cooling will be lucky to handle more than that...

Hi guys,

Just a quick question I already have been advised that I have no limitations on my system in other words no bottleneck, but still would like to know from some professionals here at the forum, my system in the description or below.

Then whoever advised you is wrong. By definition, something WILL bottleneck in any PC. Either your CPU keeps your GPU back, or vise versa. You cannot have a system without a bottleneck

All performance so far and tests show GPU always at 99% CPU bearly get to 30% and in some titles, only one core used the same scenario, BFV CPU usage max i saw was 35%

Let me know guys :)
Isn't what you are describing a bottleneck? Since you GPU is at 99% then it holds your CPU back, ie. bottlenecking.

No. A gpu running at 99% is normal. If your cpu is running at 99% its maxed out. Of a game only uses 35% to get the gpu up to 99% the cpu likely isn't holding much back.

99% GPU is much more favourable vs 99% CPU usage, unless Vram capacity is overloaded, the game won't stutter with it pegged at 99% like a CPU at 99% would.

Didn't say it's not normal, I'm saying it's a bottleneck

There is always going to be a bottleneck, indeed. But, clearly, the goal is to have your bottleneck be the gpu (when gaming). If your gpu is running 99%... the system isn't holding it, the single most important part for fps, back. Sure you can get a better gpu for more fps, but that isn't the point. The question, to me, is for a given system.

A gpu doesn't hold a cpu back.

Exactly. You DON'T want a cpu pegged when gaming...

and it's kinda important to remember that you'll not see any noticeable fps drop at 95-98% gpu load either.fractions really.
once you can't hit that +95% consistently you may wanna start thinking about cpu upgrade.
if you can't hit 90% you definitely need one.

Hi Guys,

Me again guys, damn I got this feel that with all I have got right now like board and other parts now one only thing is missing that is cpu and for that CPU case I got for 400£ an i9 9900k used for about 4 month, but then I got brand new for 330£ i7 9700k and dno why in almost all benchmarks i7 9700k has more performance comparing in gaming to i9 and they both same chipwith only differences one has no HT and is only 8 threads and other ya HT and 16 threads, so guys what should I pick ? I do some audio work editing and work and then having lots of windows open of software and stuff on desktop when working on a project then testing in games the sounds, so what you say would be ? I know while running i7 it gets some times in some games up to 100% usage when i9 nearly hits 56% in most titles

thanks guys

My guy, use periods/punctuation... this is tough to read. :(

Let me see if I understand................

You want to pick between a 9700K and 9900K? If you can, stick with the 9900K.

Hey EarthDog,

Sorry making this hard to read, doing it from tiny screen and is damn hard plus this old phone as my main iPhone X got out of battery so letting that charge. Well yes your totally right I’m bit confuse as i7 9700k looks like faster than i9 9900k and this bothers me. As I’m paying 400£ for used CPU and I do know not much about that cpu story, I know is well looked and since open box the person stick that in to board and till now to sell it, and i7 9700k is looks faster and cheaper and new 0h of use, so is just messing with my head, can you help to point what would be logical thing here. Also I’m using quite powerful gpu so I don’t want to be hold up by cpu but yes gpu ;)

thanks much appreciated

Stan

This should help

keep in mind the 9900k is the best cpu on the platform you're choosing and its a dead platform so saving a couple bucks on a 9700k is pretty senseless imo

Hi Guys!

Great news! PC is up and running my i9 9900k is rocking like nothing!! I got max temps in Intel stress test and benchmarks furmark max 76c now in hot weather 30c o/s max temp on two cors from all 79c-80c, at 1.285v I get solid 5.0Ghz as fallowed one OC guide on youtube and pc is solid and stable! I love this PC and proud to own this beast and it makes me smile when looking at it :D very happy !!

Thanks to all of you who supported and advised and spent time in coming here to comment !!

I very pleased and lucky with this CPU, I was very afraid of this being oven PC but come out as is not that bad, the idle temps in this hot weather is about 36c but my EKWB 240mm rad and my fans are in normal mode, not even max or performance so I guess is nice temps considering that I have OC the CPU and once all cores on 5.0Ghz are amazing in gaming or 3D apps temps are maxing 55c not to mention on AVX tests my temps were very very impressive 76c and some of the cores hit 79c-80c that is crazy good

Thanks, guys if anyone wants the OC config to feel free to ask :D

Ah almost forgot my Master Aorus board is so damn cool, the temps on vrm's are stunning

if you feel like the CPU is a a bottle neck with your GPU. Up the resolution if you the higher your resolution the less stress on your CPU. I had a GTX 980 ti with a I7 2600 (non K)... the i7 WAS a bottleneck in most cases so i upped the resolution and got a little more frames in 1440p

hope that helps
