Is it possible to transfer Uplay games to another pc without downloading them over again?

I bought a new gaming pc but my internet connection is slow so I would like to transfer all my uplay games from my current pc to the new one. I did this with all my steam games successfully by copying game folders from Steamapps/common but I need to know if Uplay games can be copied as well.

You have come upon a pivotal moment in your life where you can opt to never install Uplay again.

Funny aside - not sure you can, don't think so, Uplay still is utter crap.

Yeah just make a new folder and call it what ever you want then copy your uplay games to it then all you need to do is hit the download button for a game and point it to your new folder and it should pick up the old files.

I'd copy the whole Ubisoft Game Launcher folder. The games should be in a sub folder of it.

Love this, the sarcasm was too funny.

@boromaill I hope the suggestions to move the files helped. :) I've never had to do this myself, but if you go to settings, you can change the location of the game files, so it should support doing this.

Yes, you can. Are you moving the drive, or just copying? In any case, I have done both.

Once you install Uplay, call up your Games screen, whether Installed or not. Click on a game. You will see the Download button. In small print below, however, you see "locate my game" or something similar. THAT is where you point the registry to the game files already occupying space on your drive. It will do a minimal download of what it considers critical files, and Voila, you have your Uplay game without the 20 minute (+) download.

Be advised, if you click download, Uplay will roll it's eyes and wonder why, but will still do what it is told. :)

It is worth noting that some older games such as Ghost Recons AW and AW2 as examples do not install inside the Ubisoft Game Launcher (which is Uplay) folder, but simply under the folder Ubisoft. The skipping the download option will not be available for them. Take a look and see how many this applies to, so you will know.

Hope this helps.

Great advice their, rtw. :) I remember Steam converting all games in one's library to a new efficient format a couple of years ago, so it looks like Ubisoft should get off their arses and do the same. This limitation will then disappear.

On the older ones? Yeah, but overall, it's still better than Origin, which forces me to install every (/@$#%| game again. Still, you're right, converting the older ones to DL and install in the same place would be a nice thing to do.

Right now, tho, I suspect they are expending most energy fighting off Vivendi, who keeps making hostile takeover bids. I think that is the real reason they said no AC or Far Cry games this year.

Edit: Vivendi has gone in 15 months from 6.6% ownership to 25.15%. Ubi has been working hard to find other investors not willing to sell, in order to keep Vivendi from the magic French number of 30%. There are a string of articles chronicling the growing attempts by Vivendi. Here is where it stands now:
