Is it worth getting all of the Mass Effect games

I've tried the first game several times, but nothing about it was interesting. Maybe it's time to try again though, I think my bar is much lower these days.

Story of 3 and endings... I've never really been inclined to agree on that. There are 3 choices, yes, and they're all suboptimal, but perhaps that's exactly what the game wanted to leave behind. Throughout all three episodes of the trilogy you ARE literally fighting the impossible.
The devs were promising in interviews that the game will not end up with "choose your color" ending, lol.
They fucked up when trying to come up with a new ending for the trilogy at the end of the development of 3, after the actual ending got leaked. The whole thing was a mess.

Yeah and I never got wind of that prior to playing it. So I didnt care and judged the game and its endings as they were. Expectations management really is everything it seems...? Heh

Neither did I, but the ending was so bad that I just had to look up more info to find the reason why that was the case.

YES! Sooo worth it. Although, ill tell ya to play them in order 1-3 cause in the begining of each new game you can carry over your decisons and character etc.. to the new one. Its a pretty cool feature.

All I had at the end of 3 was that sinking feeling it was the end of a very cool journey. The missions leading up to that last sequence are pretty epic

I fee it's definitely worth it, including Andromeda after the patching.

Yeah, Mass Effect is Bioware's magnum opus and frankly a watermark in RPG/ARPG story telling and design.

It's not perfect, but outside of Dragon Age and kinda the Witcher games, nothing else comes close to telling one huge coherent story with tons of little choice and consequence within and between the games.

It's a love letter to Star Trek and Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica and Star Gate and all those crazy 70s/80s/90s sci-fi shows and books.

The Legendary Edition is typically on sale for around $10 nowadays and for that price it is a truckload of high quality ARPG goodness so even if it's not exactly your cup of tea, you won't be able to argue with the price.
