Try changing wallpapers and see if it is still there. Looks OK from my end. Not sure if it is the gradient changing/color fade or what but I don't see exactly what you are asking. I see the shift from dark to light, right to left.....

what brand and model is the monitor.

Taking a desktop screenshot will not show us anything, take a pic with your phone.

It's difficult to help you when you won't give the info people need to help. A pic of your actual "broken" screen is what is needed. That being said, seems you're not happy with your purchase. Return it.

Looks absolutely fine to me

Looks great, What's your beef?
You can send it to me if you like I know I would lol.

wait a second, looks great? Why are there dark edges on the left and right side and a glowing bright white light in the middle of the screen?????? I have use plenty of monitors before, never seen this before

Send it back for a replacement

So it is a problem with the dark edges and white light.
Send it back? lol, nah I'm just going to use it until my income tax comes in and buy a brand new one. The company from ebay was suppose to send the first one, but that was wrong one, so he sent me this one. Not going to bother with it. 40 dollars wasted, its cool. Going to buy a brand new one from best buy soon, which i probably should have done from the very beginning, but was trying to save some money.

Looks like it's an edge lit panel with issues. It's not going to fix itself. Return or replace it.

Sadly, yeah. Bad backlight. Won't get better.

Yea i sent the company on ebay a message, he's going to have to just put the money back because I'm not sending it back, this is the second time he made a mistake with a monitor. If he doesn't send the money back, just going to forget about it, soon as i get my tax which should be soon I'm just going to best buy and buy a new one and be done with it.

On another note, despite the backlight being damage, i can see movies, and play games just fine. So i will just deal with it until i get a new monitor. Thanks for all the information everyone.

Looks like 1 or more LED strips have failed.

RMA that sucka.

hit up ebay's resolution center and file a ticket. Because the seller sold you a faulty item. Since this is the second monitor the seller has sent you. ebay probably wont even ask you to send it back since youre not being compensated for it.

File a dispute on ebay and get your money back. Dont let the seller cheat/scam you. Dont do it for yourself but also for the people who are probably going to buy this guys stuff and be sent faulty items. Give bad feedback - file a dispute and let ebay deal with the rest. It will go down on the merchants record.

Shitz I am sorry I for some reason did not see the second set of pictures you posted! That thing is toast man RMA NOW!

this.

Sorry about the monitor, but dont let this seller get away with not returning your money...

No actually, the first monitor which i paid for, he forgot he didn't have it any stock anymore, so he sent me a bigger monitor ( 24 inchs), it arrived today and despite the backlight being out or whatever, i can see for the most part just fine, games and movies, etc no problems despite the weird lighting.

I honestly dont'feel like sending it back, lazy idk lol, just don't feel like sending back a damage item. So, i ask him its up to him whatever he wants to do, send a refund or send another one. He hasn't got back to me yet, so i will see what he plans to do. If he doesn't refund it back, or send another one, or i have to send him the damage back, well I'm just going to forget the whole thing and just buy a brand new one when i get my tax.

Its really no money lost on my end if he doesn't send another one or money back because i paid the monitor with money i won at the casino haha.(won 200 bucks, only spent 30 dollars to win it, monitor only cost me 50 bucks)

this.

I will see what he plans to do once he gets back to me.

He will probably ignore you. give him a few days to respond, if he doesnt then file a dispute with ebay. ebay might not even ask you to send the monitor back. full refund, partial refund. its still money back in your pocket and a strike on that guys account.

Can't you just take it to a local repair shop? It shouldn't cost much to fix that.
