Is Race Driver: Grid Out?

+1, great laugh, ideal post work de-stresser.

YES, true. No game is really perfect though... I'd give Grid 8/10 and is a must buy for any car racing fan. :rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout:

Ouch; first impressions for me is that GRiD is pants, and wish I didn't waste my money on it.
So, still waiting for a decent racing game.

Reasons for impressions:
It looks good. Damned good. But I couldn't help but wish it was playable to boot.
Handling.
Going.
Stopping

All cars but the single seaters handle like you're driving on ice with slick tyres. It's pants. I thought perhaps I wasn't getting the most out of it using keyboard, so tried with my Xbox pad. Still the same. Benefit of the doubt still, booted into my XP partition to use my steering wheel, installed, fired it up: no difference. It's crap.

Going. All cars appear to have a level of traction control that makes last years F1 cars look timid.

Stopping. If anything even nearly stopped or slowed down that quick, your head would be wrenched from your shoulders.

Yeah, I know it's supposed to be an arcade game but I think I'd prefer to play Mario Kart on Wii for that.
I've spent some time trying to get used to it, and can only summise that it's built to show off the "drifting" characteristics of the game. If I'd wanted that, I'd be playing Need for Speed :/

So, not happy I've wasted my money on it. I can only hope Codemasters attempt at an F1 game will be vastly better. I'll go back to playing the 7 year old Grand Prix 4 :/

Hrmm... its more of an arcadish wanna be simulation. Its a good solid DIFFERENT racing game IMO. Its not Need for Speed, and its not Gran Turismo... its right in the middle.

guys, this game damn too difficult !!! those cars are uncontrollable, so i cannot finish even the 3rd race (i have an Alt+F4 reflex everytime get a spin)

What are you using control wise?

Just installed the demo on my X1950pro AGP rig and it runs so smooth and serious fun.
Especially compared to DiRT.
This game was never intended to be a sim just like V8 Supercars and DiRT they were intended to be arcade.

Took me two goes before I earn't over 1 million on drift though.
Makes sure you get close to the markers.

Imporant Info About Grid!!!

Hello!
If you buy a car on Ebay auction it will affect the gameplay - the cars that have high mileage and high ratio of crashes will be cheaper, but also slightly slower and more prone to damage. The cars with high ratio of wins will on the other hand have a slight performance increase.
The maximum price you can get for your car, if you sell it on ebay, also depeands on the mileage and win ratio of that car.
Hope this helps,

I just bought a MS 360 controller for Grid.... what a huge difference it makes. I've been using a really old SideWinder and I decided it was time for an upgrade. I'd like a wheel setup but my desk wont allow it. This is definitely the next best thing IMO.
