What about something like a 10400F or 10700F, how much would that cost (vs 11400F)?

Cost difference between 11400 and 10400 is just ~7.5 USD while between 11400 and 10700 is ~146.48 USD.What about something like a 10400F or 10700F, how much would that cost (vs 11400F)?
The i5 11400F was locked at 65W in the video, doesn't matter right as i5 11600K should heat up more than the 11400?
EDIT: I watched the video again something is wrong i5 11600K and i5 11400F are drawing way too less power. In tpu review 11400 alone goes past 200W!

In addition to gaming I will run Android Studio, some game development using LibGdx (might learn later), Photoshop, Blender (might learn later), some AI learning if Android Studio project requires it. I havent upgraded in 7 years, only bought rx 580 because gtx 970 died in 2018.I see.
What's your intended purpose of your build like, what are you all planning to do w/ it?
If it's just gaming basically I'd honestly go w/ the 10400F since its got a much better performance-per-watt than the 11400F
Not all the way unlocked but only to 95W.But, if you're planning on pinning the CPU at 100% in multi-threaded load for long periods, do I want an air cooler intended for 65-watt operation with a power-unlocked rocket lake CPU? Nooooo, I do not.
Not all the way unlocked but only to 95W.

Yes its the temp I am worried about at unlocked powers. Without unlocked power 11400 doesnt make sense (for me atleast). In my testing total power consumption of an 11400 system (limits removed, Gear 1@1800, 1x SATA SSD, no GPU) peaked at 171w during a 30" Cinebench R23 run. HWinfo showed 96w max CPU package power.
I guess OP's cooler should be able to handle it temperature-wise.

Like many of us, like me and you too, the OP doesn’t seem to change CPU’s every 2-3 years. Sure a 12400 (or a 5600x) would be much more powerful and cooler, but also more than 50% pricier combined with the board.Deadend platform

The CPU will only boost as long as the cooler can deal with the additional heat. If the cooler is not up to the task, the CPU will just dial it back. That said a 212 should handle 95W no problem.Yes you are correct. According to you will the Hyper 212 be enough for the i5 11400F if it was unlocked (not fully) but to 95W? Wizzard used an NH-U14S and got 72C gear 1 max power limit, he also says 95W is huge improvement too vs. the locked 65W power limit.
