I have a mx518 and a G5 and cant tell the difference between the 2 except the G5 is a little bit heavier!!

No mouse is better than another. Its all preferences. Go to your local bestbuy/circuit city/frys/ect and try them out for yourself.
EDIT: In terms of gaming/normal that is, mice for editing (GIMP, Photoshop) is a different story.

If you like flat mice, go for Razer, if you like a little chunky mice, go for Logitech. I personally prefer Logitech. I own the MX518.
+1 I love my 518, wouldnt trade it for anything. If you have bigger hands then something like the 518 would be perfect.

I use the MX510 because i dont need the sensitivity on the fly adjustments, seems to only be useful in photo edit apps to me at least.
