Is there a way to test an SSD?

I have a Dell Mini sitting in front of me *read: piece of junk :banghead:

Anyways, I have reason to believe the SSD or mainboard is failing but the system is still running. Is there a way to test these SSDs yet?

+1 its how i confirmed one of my HDD's were dead. it should work for SDD's.

You can try this, Intel's SSD Toolbox.

It says,
"- Accessing Intel SSD management features.
- Reporting the drive identification data for Intel SSDs, as well as other drives.
- Accessing the Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART)
attributes for Intel SSDs, as well as other drives.
- Checking the SMART thresholds and viewing recommended actions for Intel
SSDs, as well as other drives.
- Running diagnostic scans on Intel SSDs to check for any READ or WRITE
errors."

But notice the last line does not say that. Some info and pics on Intel's SSD Toolbox.

OCZ makes one, too and I believe Samsung and Patriot has one, but I don't remember what they are called. OCZ is OCZ Toolbox Utility. Some info here.

HDD Tune works on SSDs, I've used it on several netbooks with bad SSDs to find the problem.
