Hmm, I know it's science but that map seems wrong...

I thought the whole of the UK was moving in a way such that the northern half was actually rising and the lower half was sinking. Saw it on a geology type program and the effect is glacial isostatic adjustment. Scotland is still rising following the retreat of the glaciers.

Edit: I think I understand. The ground itself may be moving up or down but the actual land mass is still rising.
