Issue: screen "ghosting" (even after restart, in BIOS, etc)

Last night, after some light CPU OC'ing adjustments, CoD MW crashed. I turned pc off and went out.
This morning I have: screen ghosting all ofter the place. When I open any window (Word, Explorer, any!) the background shows old static image from... a closed program, a game... and even restarting and entering the BIOS, it shows up in the background of the bios!

Not sure if it is called ghosting, as ghosting referes to many things. Searching the internet has not directed me towards the same issue and / or solution. Still trying.

Does know someone more about this? Thanks a lot.

Image persistence/retention? I mean, I can reproduce that sort of thing even on IPS display if I have side by side windows running for hours but to have it like that after seconds? Contact Acer, get some photos with your phone.

Yep. I have photos of my UEFI bios with TechPowerUp website as background! It's just not visible when I upload it here because of gamma settings of something.
Speaking of Gamma, today my Gamma is also absurdly high.... Lowering it hides these ghosting, persistent images.... Maybe they were there since ever?

Technical: A monitor does not have a persistent memory keeping images, right? The GPU does, but after reboots? Man, is this a never-ending story, 3rd graphic card and still no peace of mind.

If it's anything like I had with my Asus monitor, you're going to have to send it off to have the panel replaced. Not had an issues since the panel was replaced, but it's the third panel in this screen, as Asus messed up the first one when they replaced the internal power board during an earlier repair...

Is it always the same picture or is it changing?
Anyway sounds a burn-in like thing, try to contact your seller /repair shop to activate your garranty for repairing or replacing your display.

Hello, back again! Yes, seams to be monitor related. I replaced my monitor with an older one and problems gone!!!!
(Must be the same liquid cooling coolant spill I've mentioned elsewhere. Some dripped on the monitor...) What a mess up! :banghead:

This morning the problem was worse so I decided to replace the monitor after reading many opf your suggestions. Thanks all. The picture was not changing, it were static old backgrounds.

Nah, just a panel issue, mine was less than a year old when it started. It wasn't too noticeable at first, but at the end, the ghosting stayed for about 5-10 minutes.

I guess it wasn't under warranty then?
