Issues with drivers 566.36 and NVCleanstall v1.17

"To workaround you MUST select the 'NvApp' component manually...
... use manual and then in the NVIDIA installer, deselect NV App"

Isn't this contradictory, or am I not getting something?

edit: Never mind, I got it (I think).

if you cant install just selecting "min/rec" (and not do anything else), all is not fine.

I usually use NVCleanInstall, got same problem. Installed without it and 566.36 installed immediately..

Is this still the same issue (1.17)?

I'm having a real hard time updating my drivers, with both Nvidia app and NVClean:

I run through NVClean install as instructed and when it opens the Installer, it shows I have no current version for the graphics driver.

Then when I click next, it just fails without any explanation. If I do it from the Nvidia App, I get this error:

I'm at a complete loss.

Ok, so even weirder is my DirectX diag results:

What is that main driver and version?

Hello i have a fix that you need add in NVCleanstall auto delete this line in setup.cfg for remove this error
Open setup.cfg with notepad and scroll full down after delete this 3 lines and dont have a space in a line
This fixed the message error "The system cannot find the path specified"
Thank you !

I have to admit, I'm not able to follow the instructions popping up because of the problems to install the 566.36 driver. The description is not clear, mentioning options not possible to find.

I used this little software for years to update the display driver and it made DXGI device errors dissappear on my favorite flightsim. Why is it not updated? To allow people to install outdated drivers?

Regards
Dan

Thanks for the reminder, I just released version 1.18, which adds support for 566.36

Thanks for that. My first post here and realy fast response to a long lasting problem. I hope that fixed it for some time.

With the new 576.02 driver, if I download them with NVCleanstall 1.18, when I go to install the drivers, always says files are missing.

However, if I download the files from NVIDIA servers and point NVCleanstall to the downloaded file, it works just fine.

Same issue for me, although if i download the driver from nvidia/tpu and select it and proceed with Driver + NV App (and the required modules it automatically adds) I get past the missing files bit and just end up with a failed grpahics driver install and an unattempted nvapp. @W1zzard

Same here.

I don't install NVAPP and they work just fine.

And again, the NVCleanstall_1.18.0 does no longer install the latest driver 376.02. All goes fine until the installation starts, which is finished in 2 seconds. It says it has successfully installed but nothing has changed.

I just installed the 576.02 driver with the latest version of NVCleanstall where i selected the recommended options and nothing else and i have no idea what went wrong but i had horrific glitches and artifacts in the OS after installation to the point where it just froze with half my screen covered in a dark blue square and on top of that smaller black squares flashing every few seconds.
Thankfully i have a reset button on my PC so i managed to get into safe mode from the login screen on the next boot and uninstalled the driver and then ran the installer package itself, not from within NVCleanstall, and it solved the issue.
I remember having this problem some years ago with this program but not nearly as bad as this.
Just posting this as a heads up.
