Jim Keller joins Tenstorrent as President and CTO

How can a startup afford someone like this?

Affording is not so much the question. Rather, how did they happen to land Jim Keller? Was it an informal meeting where some person just dropped they were working in Tenstorrent or talked about the stuff they do that got Keller interested? Perhaps they were looking for a qualified person to fill the position and someone said "Hey, I know Jim Keller, how about him?"

I definitely would like to know how those things come to be.
 
I'm sure it's at least five dollar digits a month he'd be willing to get out of the bed for, so for me how a small nobody company can afford him is very legit :D

My money's on Jim heard about what they were doing at a conference or through some other channel and it piqued his interest.
