I just successfully removed my IHS, it seemed to have given me better clocks and MUCH better temps. I'm testing ATM.

I'll update as I push it higher.

It was actually quite easy. Just have to be careful. 2600mhz prime95 stable so far.

It's probably not going to clock THAT high. I had it running 2.86 last night windows stable, but I VERY seriously doubt it would ever pass prime95 at that speed.

But it's been priming all night at 2600 so who knows...

I'd start with SuperPI, try 1M first. if it won't pass, then it will give errors and stop (calculating errors). If it passes, try 8M. If that passes try 32M. If 32M passes, I guarantee Prime95 passes all night no prob....

But, that doesn't mean that your system is safe for games. Actually the best benchmark I found is 3Dmark, specially 3dmark03. It could make the computer crash if it's unstable or too edgy. Then you could play Oblivion. Usually Oblivion crashes the system if ANY component is too "overclocked" or tweaked.

i would just start up oblivian and wait for a bit if (as in just letting the main screen sit there) and if it didnt reboot after a few mins i would play.Sometimes i would get about 15 mins into the game and comp would restart so i d adjust the OC again.If i could get 4 hrs outta it, it was fine
