I just started playing this game the last week and It's a great game, I already spent 100+ hours(summer break ftw), I recommend it to anyone who likes Real Space Exploration especially the ones who often hang around in the Science and Tech section here :toast:

anyone here who plays it too?

https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/

Its a sandbox game that lets you create your own space program, build rockets, test them, fly to space, build probes, crafts, rovers, space stations, all these with realistic physics. You can even land on planets and moons, and it has ALOT of mods

The game is still in alpha, not done yet, version 0.19.1, so basically 19.1% done, But don't let that fool you, the games super stable even in the current version and provides you with tons of hrs of gameplay already. And if you're not satisfied yet, you can download mods at http://kerbalspaceport.com/

Its the best alpha I've ever played, better than Arma 3

There is a demo you can try here, It's not actually a demo, but an earlier version of the game available for free(0.13)

Or something like that..... >.>
I <3 it..

can't play it with current computers, but the description reminds me of Aurora.

http://aurorawiki.pentarch.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

Not even..
Aurora is like a text based game, that I can't even see any graphics in.
Been looking all over google for a game play video.
All I see is text pages.
It's just text?
If so, booorrriinnnnggggg.. lol...

Aurora is a strategy, turn based game.
Using text as it's main game base.

KSP is a real time, persistent game, with nice graphics and the ability to actually fly the ships you make in full 3D, with physics.
Games seems totally different to me.
Unless I am missing something. If I am, please feel free to link some actual game play videos, not just pages of text.
Text games just don't do it for me.

Also not sure what you mean by "can't play with current computers".
Looks like people are playing it to me..

I put it on my Steam wishlist back when they added it to Steam. I'm waiting for it to go on sale before I buy it.

i meant thst you design spaceships and stuff. Aurora has been described as "playing in excel", which isnt unfair. :D

And i meant MY computers. The fast one is a decade actually. :( will try when i get the chance, looks promising.

Picked this game up this weekend, I couldn't pass it up for $23. I was one of those kids that went to space camp, twice, when I was in school. I love games like this. And when I was at space camp I remember they had a kiosk set up that let you design a rocket with different stages and test launch it to see who could get the highest, I got the high score.

I played it way too much, got very little sleep, and pissed off the girlfriend. This game is awesome! Though I don't use any of that BS math crap to do technical things(math minor in college and I hate math). I use the more brute force approach and more aim to design completely rediculous things and see what happens.

Its a lot of fun. But after many numerous failed rescue attempts to the mun, I've put it aside for now. i should try and get back into it.

It is currently on sale on steam $15!!

Anyone have multiple trading cards for this game for the Steam summer sale badge? If so let me know.

It is 40% off again for the next 8 hours if you missed it before (same link).

Kids have been bugging me about this one since we watched a few youtube videos on it last summer. At $13.50 or close to it, I figured it's worth a shot and a lot of folks seem to really like it! Looks like it could be entertaining for this big kid too! :D

60 GB of uncompressed, raw footage, Max Settings, NO quality loss. "Gundam ship"

KSP 1 - YouTube
The video footage is 100% raw, it has not been even the slightest bit compressed.
This is as good as it gets for video footage.
Just like you were playing the game yourself.
Ran on 2x GTX 680 in sli @ absolute maximum settings.

It's a new ship I made, I lovingly call Gundam, with it's piggybacking ship.
Both ships are fully capable of take off and landing.

This is take off and landing of both ships.
with download links to the ships if you want them.
Enjoy.
I know I did.

I wish I would have bought a few more copies of it, I only bought one extra and already gave it away to my cousin.:(

This game is super fun, and I've just started getting into some of the mods for it.

I spent a couple days going through mods and taking out parts, I found most indispensable.
242MB total.

Credit is not to me in any way.

Credit to B9 Aerospace pack, Nova Punch 2, KW Rocketry, The Soviet Pack, RLA electric engines, The universe replacer, Tingles Replacer package, and the Dreamscape Skybox mod.
Hope I missed no one.

Install is simple.. Extract to the main Kerbal space program directory.

IE: C/Program files x86/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Kerbal Space Program.. (Bam! Extract in there.)

This is a compilation of what I consider to be choice parts, from great mod packages.

This is the picker and choosers type of package. There is a lot missing from each package.
Included are things I considered to be the most useful and universal.
Like the solar panels from the Mir and Soyuz but not the space stations themselves.
Picked and chose from each package.
Maybe you'll like it, maybe not.
But it has helped me maintain some kind of stability and usefulness, while not being bloated, with things I never use.
Enjoy.

PS: Idk if anyone cares about this. If it bugs some modder or something, I will gladly take it down or please just report and delete the topic.

Idk how this stuff works or what the etiquette is involved, so I included thanks to each of the modders for the packages I used.
Thank you.

How big is your parts folder?

I find myself installing too much mods even though I carefully select each and every part and it crashes every once in a while.

LargeFarva is hilarious! Maybe I'm childish, but I love his videos for some reason.

Yea I got tired of crashing so often.
It happens but it is so much more rare now.

Kind of one of the examples of things I try to avoid is:
"Anything I already have, I don't need another one to do the same job."

Main "parts" directory is 52 MB. But mod packages tend to have their own part folders.
My "game data" folder, which is where most mod packages go, is 1.1 GB ish.

The download includes my game data folder and my parts folder.
Which would be both of those combined in size.

I am only putting this up here because TPU is like my interweb friends. I'm sure some modder at Kerbal, would get his panties all ruffled up, if I started putting this crap all over the place. So just here, on the down low. :P
This is just to help out my fellow TPU ers.
