These 3 components ran very well together in the screenshot below.
E8500 E0 stock 3.16ghz Lapped (CPU only, no heatsink), 4.4ghz 1.328v 1 hour Orthos stable on air. This cpu will also do 4ghz (8 x 500) @ 1.2v under load.
G.Skill Pi DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 2 x 2gb set, low voltage 1.9v, F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B, was running DDR2 928 5-4-4-10 PL8 @ 2.0v.
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Rev. 2.0 Socket 775 motherboard - box/manual/io plate/ide cable/2 sata cables included. Board has a small fan crazy-glued to northbridge sink - limit was 4.2ghz on air but with NB heatsink fan (1.4v NB) 4.4ghz was stable 1 hour Orthos and OCCT.
$150 E8500 E0 Lapped - cpu only no heatsink.
$70 G.Skill Pi F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B 2 x 2gb set.
