Latest Windows 11 Cumulative Update Preview Breaks AMD Software Application

Update Preview? You mean beta level update happens to break something? Ho-hum, guess it's a slow news day.
True.
Wonder what the volume of articles would be if we wrote one every time there was a Linux kernel beta patch or a beta distribution preview update that broke a piece of software?
We have Phoronix for that. But at least Phoronix does a good job and will submit bugs of bisect them if they're already submitted, when something is regressed.

Didn't break anything here. Running Win 11 22H2 Build 22621.2361with RX 7900 XTX Adrenalin 23.9.3
It reset overclock profiles.
So after each restart you need to set the specific one that you want to use.
So if you don't have and just use your card by default - you do not have a problem.

If only adobe apps and anti cheats worked on linux

I am doomed to this miserable existence of an OS aren't I

Yes, Windows developed by idiots, Linux from genius only. Black and white, only.
He didn't make that distinction, you did.
Linux and Windows have different target audiences. If you're in one's audience, you won't be happy when you have to use the other. Nothing to do with how smart the people building them really are.

I'm pretty sure you can run Adobe's stuff on wine. But if you also want HDR, Linux doesn't have that :(

Yeah, one of my targets for swapping main displays is one with good HDR, another thing tying me down to windows, eventually I will be free from these chains, or at least make a partition to boot into linux for, idk just try things.

Still have the issue that I happen to be unfortunate enough to enjoy destiny 2, a game that won't run under linux because bungie hates linux users and won't use the battleye version that has linux compatibility. Womp womp

Experiencing this issue on my 6950XT with the latest update. Every time I boot the PC I get the "settings reset to default due to unexpected system failure" message from Adrenalin. Applying the OC profile once Windows has had time to screw it's head back on straight fixes the problem. Tested with 3DMark TSE and Speedway and everything still seems perfectly stable, getting the same scores I was getting prior to the update.

Or you de bloat your W10/11 from all preinstalled Win Apps including MS Edge XBox Bar Widget App/W11 and first and foremost Win Store then disable useless services!! In W10 you can go as low as 56 and 1.8gb ram and in W11 about 67 and 2.3gb ram at boot!! No apps/services at boot your CPU nad Memory is not wasted for useless crap especially MS Apps which You MUST HAVE!!! ;) and last thing use OOShutUp to disable Telemetry and other crap! And then do manual daily Update and you wont brake your system because there's nothing to brake!! Updating you will receive mostly MS Defender Update and sporadically you will get some necessary Windows Net and things like that!!

Am running W11 just like that last 3 months for +-12h a day and never had any issues!! Same with W10 and that was working more then 12 months ;)

enjoy your ads baby! you won't be able top de-bloat this one, M$ will make certain of it ;)

someday you will join your Master's, but for now you are still a padawan in my eyes.

To become a Master:

yep , i'm experiencing this bug too on my rx 6750xt pc :/ . Dang microshAft is at it again...

My Win11 install didn't have a single problem either. So where does that leave us?

Windows has around a billion users or so. Even if just 0.1% are affected, that's still a million people complaining.

True, but again, where does that leave us? Does it mean Windows is an unstable, crappy OS if it only works for >99% of its users? Should we dismiss complaints wholesale because it works for >99%?
