I finally decided to upgrade to an LCD monitor, but I'm not sure which brand to get. I've narrowed it down to these three
Sceptre - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824112006
Samsung - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824001087
Viewsonic - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824116066
EDIT -- Viewsonic - http://www.legendmicro.com/store/more_info.asp?product_ID=4217
I'm leaning towards the Sceptre at the moment. I have used them in the past, only for CRT monitors, and like the contrast ratio (1000:1). It's also the least expensive. The Viewsonic one isn't bad and I use them at work/school. I have also heard that Samsung makes good monitors. If any of y'all can suggest any other monitors, just let me know. I'm looking to spend ~$200-~300. I'm pretty sure my X1950 Pro can handle the 1680x1050 resolution.
Also, could someone explain the difference between the actual displays, i.e. is one type better than the other. For example, Newegg claims that the Sceptre uses a TFT panel, the Samsung uses an a-si TFT/TN, and the Viewsonic uses Active matrix & TFT. Is there any real difference, or are they all the same?
EDIT -- added Samsung VX2025WM. Uses MVA display panel instead of TN.
