More likely just to save energy. LG OLED TVs have several other automated features to mitigate retention and burn in issues, like pixel refresher, pixel shift, and more.

Press just about any key on the remote. This tells the TV you, the viewer have not gone to bed and forgot to turn the TV off.

I note on my LG OLED, a little pop-up windows appears first for a few minutes, asking me, "Are you still there?" and telling me it will soon power down to save energy - unless I press a key to change the volume, channel, input, just about anything.

For us to offer specific advice, we need the specific model number so we can check out the user guide.

i always thought that the auto turn off was for burn ins but until @Bill_Bright mentioned that the turn off was for energy saving...
just goes to show how much i know about modern tvs learning each day
