Getting the right kind of keyboard for the type of gaming you prefer can be the difference between an enjoyable experience and a miserable one. Gaming keyboards can be complex and confusing, but the Logitech G team and their new Logitech G413 SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and the G413 TKL (Tenkeyless) SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard are designed to upgrade your gameplay experience without breaking the bank.

Our engineering and design teams carefully designed a gaming keyboard that delivers both precision and performance. These two new keyboards offer gaming-grade mechanical switches with extremely durable PBT keycaps that are wear, fade and shine resistant, at a low price. With a black-brushed aluminium-magnesium alloy top case as the keyboard's backbone, and white LED lighting, they will look great on your desk. Also, it uses low-carbon aluminium to reduce its carbon footprint, so it doesn't only look amazing, but is also much more sustainable.

Not only do the keyboards look great, they have gaming-grade performance. The G413 SE and G413 TKL SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboards feature Tactile Mechanical Switches, which deliver uncompromising performance and give discernible actuation for gamers who prefer direct feedback. In addition, the keyboards feature PBT keycaps, engineered with quality material and designed to hold up over time, these keycaps are heat- and wear-resistant; making them one of the most durable PBT keycaps designed.

Lastly, the keyboards were designed to deliver reliable key input versus other non-gaming mechanical keyboards, with the addition of the 6-key rollover anti-ghosting performance. Designed to ensure reliable rollover, which means multiple keys can be pressed simultaneously and all register at the same time so that a special move is triggered.

hard to imagine Logitech has a mechanical keyboard, the metal top is a nice touch tho.

Apparently they actually have a few decent ones…Me, I just can’t let go of my G19s for the LCD screen I use for my monitoring via AIDA64. I just try to remain utterly ignorant about mechanicals…

I don't like that floating switch design. Somebody make a retro style keeb, I want it to feel like I could cave someone's face in with it (yes, I know Unicomps exist, but they're a pain to get a hold of in EU).

And still no G510s successor in sight :(

I still have one of those laying around, but since I got the G910 the keys almost feel like mechanical but softer. My only problem with this g910 is the RGB (#sayNO2RGB) LEDs, several have lost 1 color. IDK if I bought a keyboard with just white lighted keys, I might have stuck with that over the years.

The official press release says $80 for the full size and $70 for the tenkeyless model. Really easy to recommend as a first mechanical keyboard unless it comes out with any big issues.

Have you been living under a rock? Logitech has had mech keyboards for years now.
I don't like that floating switch design.
Same here. That is why i have stuck with G910 that has recessed keys and no light bleed. I just wish Logitech would finally move to PBT keycaps. Laser engraving wears off after a few years under heavy use. Mostly gaming.

Yep the Romer-G (Omron) switches are softer than standard Cherry. And yes G910 has problem with LED's dying over the years. My first (Spark version) developed this problem after a few years. Last November i bought a new one (Spectrum version this time). Let's see how long this lasts. Also the white is rather bluish on G910. It's not pure white. As for why i got G910 again - most mech keybpoards these days are using the floating key design that i hate. And those that do not lack features i require.

When I put a ticket in, they just sent me a new one. The only thing wrong with both is the LEDs.

BTW, my rock is only a 1BR. If there were mechanical keyboards, before they went with these romer-gs, they're trying to hide.

I have one of the OG G413s. Its solid well made keyboard and I really dig the minimalistic design and clean looks. Mines holding up well from daily use for quite a while now so no complaints about quality.

I'm glad to see they make a TKL version now and they are uping the quality. I'd gladly get another one in TKL form if it had a detachable cable but I didn't see that called out as feature. A wireless version would be a nice option too but something to allow me to switch from work to personal systems is kinda a must.

Looks nice enough, will there be ISO options or it will be like their K845 (which this is pretty much a clone of) with only US ANSI layout?

I don't like that floating switch design. Somebody make a retro style keeb, I want it to feel like I could cave someone's face in with it (yes, I know Unicomps exist, but they're a pain to get a hold of in EU).

I love it, it's much easier to clean.

If you're looking for unicomp you might want to take a look at https://www.keyboardco.com/ (their reseller in the uk) though with brexit it might not help much.

I still have one of those laying around, but since I got the G910 the keys almost feel like mechanical but softer. White keys can get discolored as well, I bought a keyboard on black friday with white backlight and 3 of the keys are yellow-ish. Not enough for me to care but disapointing with how new the keyboard is

And yes G910 has problem with LED's dying over the years. My first (Spark version) developed this problem after a few years. Last November i bought a new one (Spectrum version this time). Let's see how long this lasts.
My G Pros had this problem with LEDs dying just within 2-3 months. It started with 1 or 2 key, and spread quickly like a plague to other keys. I said G Pros because Logitech replaced my keyboard 3x during 2 years of warranty period. The last one just before warranty expired also developed the same problem, and I decided that I had enough with Logitech keyboard, or even RGB keyboard at all.

Fun fact: only the blue LEDs died, blue only.

Switched to Blackwidow Lite Stormtrooper Ed. 1 year ago, with pure white LED, no LED has died ever since. I don't miss the RGB, Pure white LED looks so good and clean.

Any updates on what these cost? They look like near-perfect, gimmick-free basic keyboards. No stupid styling, no weird layouts, no expensive ARGBLED bullshit, no dumb drivers needed.

I think mechanical keyboards are some of the most overrated tech in the last decade.

It's not that mechanical keyboards have become any better, it's that membrane keyboards are becoming worse.
As a result of the race-to-the-bottom for membrane keyboards, the difference between mechanical and membrane is getting larger.

If you have a decent-quality, older membrane keyboard then yeah, there's no real reason to upgrade.

It's on Logitech site (i've only found the us one) - 79$ pre order for full size, 69$ (nice ;) ) for TKL. If you're looking for full size, you might want to take a look at the Logitech K845 which is cheaper (for non-cherry versions) at 59$ with logi red/blue/brown - 79$ for cherry red/blue.

Even before membrane keyboards were still membrane keyboards imo. The problem I see with mechs is that they became "gamer" focused and prices skyrocketed. Like this example it self, an SE lower cost version that's still 70$ or when Cherry released a cost focused switch (Cherry viola) and the only keyboard I've seen use it was the Corsair K60 and it still cost 90$

Y’all need to get out more. There are wayyyyy more mechanical options at all sorts of price ranges and layouts than are characterized here.

Honestly this looks like overpriced junk to me. To each their own.

Have you actually owned one? Honestly, typing on a mechanical keyboard vs a basic membrane one is like gaming with an RTX 3080 instead of a GT 710.

I know there's a million keyboards out there, but you have to jump through hoops to buy most of them. At least Logitech products are mostly available through major retailers.

Gamer-fication of the mechanical keyboard market is indeed a "sad but true" thing. I got into mechanicals back in 2007 with the purchase of a Das. I'd still have it if I hadn't wanted to move to a TKL.

These days mechanical keyboards are all about the ARGBLED, childish styling and stupid fonts on the keycaps, ridiculous (and often janky or intrusive) software to control it all, coupled with obscene pricing for what is usually plasticky non-premium build quality and material finishes.

For $100 I want a steel baseplate, an alloy or at least a durable abs top deck that isn't covered in nasty, short-lived soft-touch paint, N-key rollover, and a standard layout. That shouldn't be too much to ask for but it so often is.

Logitech is a much easier sell than something like Keychron or Redragon, especially given their support.

I bought a regular G413 last year and it cost me 75 euros, and they release even cheaper versions of the G413 series?

The Drop ENTR might have your name on it. Dead simple, super clean looks and very high-build quality.

I bought one for a build for a photo editing build and yeah it feels like a cut above my G413 in terms of feel. I'm not sure I'm enough of a keyboard aficionado to switch to it but it is really nice and would be on my short list if I just wanted the hardware and none of the gamer software.

Since you mentioned Das. I had one of those before the G413 (I got rid of it cause I didn't like the bulkiness of it and I don't like media keys) and the ENTR better built than that too, frankly I think the G413 has more quality feels than the Das.

Drop only make ANSI layout. I'm in the other half of the global population who want ISO.
