Zero effort, you'll get to preorder the Deck 2 before I have the chance to see one unless I get it smuggled in... Ally is sold officially over here though.
That has been an annoyance with valve for me too.
I remember while I still lived in chile how annoying it was that they wouldn't ship anything. I wanted an index ye? I mean, I would never manage to get the money, but because they didn't officially send them it meant that I would never be able to buy it. I have a friend that had to buy the index second hand, and thus did not get half life alyx for free because of that issue with valve.

What's really odd is how people like you keep crawling out of the woodwork to try to defend ASUS by deflecting blame onto other manufacturers.
I'm defending Asus? Interesting. I don't think so. Their communication seemed terrible and confusing.
I've never bought anything from Asus. Their products seem good, but their prices are ridiculous. I have nothing to defend.
I was just stating my opinion on the one refreshing ray of sunshine in this whole thing. Take it or leave it. That, and although I like GamersNexus, Steve does seem to be on a rage kick, and I think this one thing was really blown out if proportion. I have much worse business experiences all the time.
USPS: now THAT deserves a deep dive. Criminals.

Such a massive hole I dug by using a figure of speech. Almost as massive as the resolved issue highlighted in the GN rant video.
You take this stuff pretty seriously, huh?

Famous last words :D

Personally I'm fine with any manufacturer's boards, never had any major problems with any known manufacturers' boards or graphics cards, so I'll get that one which has the best bang for buck. :)

If only the Deck wasn't slower than a calculator. Sadge.

Warranty departments have always run wild though. It's like they're instructed to care as little as possible about consumer law, completely ignore issue, however minor, that could potentially escalate - this dude with the 4090 that had the small indent on the 12VHPWR broken, it's really a minor problem, basically without that the cable won't lock in place, which *shouldn't* inutilize the graphics card, as long as the cable isn't being pulled or yanked while it's in operation, but let's suppose that due to that, his card catches fire, his house follows, whole neighborhood etc - let's take it to the extreme and let's say this single card, being denied warranty repair with the guy being overcharged to this extent - caused the next Great Fire of wherever they live, is anyone holding ASUS accountable? Of course not. Yet perhaps it's high time they (and every other corporation pulling things like this) should.

I'll trade him my strix white 4080 that has a perfectly good indent though!
mine only works if I have light :(

ASUS really doesn't know how to do PR well, lmao what a joke of a company

I can say that I have never been happier with AsRock, NZXT, Valve, XFX, Sapphire, Corsair for PSU's, and MSI as a last resort. I won't buy anything else.

No company is perfect, but those above improved at least, but damn ASUS, get some skill boi

Absolutely insane. RMA departments should never return used products to customers that have had issues with NEW products. I've never needed ASUS RMA, but I think from now on I'll be giving them a pass for the next generation or two. There's nothing more vexing than a lengthy, drawn-out RMA process, and I've had to go as far as threatening legal action to get some RMAs processed here.

Thankfully, MSI has treated me well so far. My next motherboard is probably going to be a Gigabyte Aorus Tachyon, though.

Well yeah.....obviously something is very wrong with Asus RMA and if they don't make urgent changes ASAP they will loose more&more of customers of course damage is already done but there is still chance to slow it down and recover it before is to late.....personally I been using Asus products for ages never did RMA in the past and I was very satisfied with the quality of their products especially their motherboards......

GN is not done with them yet. They are having all of the viewers with bad RMA and CS experiences fill out the forms to submit to the FTC. I have not bought Asus NIB in over a decade, they will stay on my do not buy list until they have serious policy change and act like their customers matter.

Check this out this was a hell of a ride with Asus......

The intro seems to indicate he has got returned boards as a supposed new product.

When I used to work in the PC retail industry I was told a big reason why motherboard boxes are not sold sealed, it then makes it very easy to resell returns as new, so e.g. can replace a sata cable with sealed cable, replace manual, that sort of thing. Or even just resell the box as it was returned without even examining it. Motherboards when I worked in the industry had by far the highest return rate out of all components.

--

Watched it now, so its a mixture, he got a returned board sold by amazon as new and needed multiple RMAs. Interestingly I can see the design of the board is very bad on the fan headers, if you install a fan heatsink on the CPU you covering those 2 fan headers very close to the socket. I couldnt see any others on that side of the board.

Amazon US has helped me out when the manufacturer refused RMA. I'm a prime member so that may be a factor but it's sad it has to come to that at times.

When even you get an I-phone replacement are you believing it is a new unit from the shelf? Rolf people... how naive the thing that changes is degree of refurbishment... the board for most parts will be reused.
