There's just a slight possibility I'll be doing a build soon, and even if I'm not, my curiosity is piqued. The theme of the build would be, as the case gallery calls it, "budget sleeper". So I was wondering if there was a nice quiet 350-500 Watt power supply. When browsing Newegg, I see tons of dual-fan $40 power supplies, but...not sure that they're all quiet. Just wondering, do you guys know any quiet, reliable power supplies?

Enermax Niosetaker II is almost silent, and has 2 adjustable fans. Even at max RPM you can barely hear them.

But you gotta remember, I'm cheap, and this is a "budget sleeper" concept :). I found a very nice FSP 400W power supply. It's got a big, quiet fan, dual 12v rails (total is 34A), lots of cables, generally looks like a great deal for $42 plus shipping.

Cooler Master must have swapped the fan, first review says "loudest thing in my case, considering RMAing", I think I'll stick with the Silverstone :).

ive never known coolermaster gear to be loud OR badly constructed...maybe its the price lol

edit - the second comment stated that it was silent...so i assumed the first dude had a bad fan or something to that notion
