Hi guys,

I don't care about overclocking/bumped specs much, noise is what I would like to avoid.
Performance wise 380 meets my needs: SC2, Dreamfall (that unity engine is terrible on older hardware), XCom, maybe Witcher 3/occasional shooters (I'm fine with not maxing graphics settings).

Need new monitor too, my 1600x1200 4:3 20" Eizo feels small now and what's worse, I can hear high pitch sound, when it's on.

I'm after 27" (or bigger) with built in speakers.

Monitor would be re-used for watching TV (SAT broadcasts, mostly in HD, connected over HDMI) so I'm afraid only 2 existing native resolutions match my needs: full HD (which my GPU can handle nicely) and 4k (no problem with scaling FHD and I plan to keep monitor for years)

Please share your experience.

Hi,

Sapphire Nitro R9 380 would be good (better to take those with 4GB VRam they are more future proof), or MSI Gaming/GB Windforce.

Monitor:
Samsung S27E370D (27" 1080p Freesync)
or
LG 27MU67-B (27" 4K Freesync)

There aren't many monitors matching what you search for but these 2 are good.

Kanan,

thanks for your reply.
LG seems to have miserable 40-59 range for FS.
Samsung looks interesting, but, wow, on manufacturers site it is regarded as FreeSync (can't see frequerncy range though) yet it has NO DISPLAY PORT input? So, it supports freesync over hdmi???

Wow.

But it has DP, Samsung is listing it wrong - I checked it on various websites + pics:

I have more monitors with resolution between 1080p and 4K (I would take one of these):

(both 1440p)
Asus MG278Q, 27", 144Hz, Freesync (40-144Hz), TN Panel
Asus MG279Q, 27", 144Hz, Freesync (35-90Hz), IPS Panel

I'd personally take the Asus with TN Panel, has the best frequency and Freesync flexibility besides I'd never buy a monitor under 120Hz, just too important. Sweetspot on buying a Freesync monitors is 1440p right now, has the most products.
