IMO once the $199 variants sell out the $250 variant may take over. Currently with prices as high as $260. It looks like AMD is using the 5850 to price war against the 460. Using 5850s between $260-$290 range
Aren't 5870 dropping too?
Indeed they are coming down in price. This maybe the start of clearing inventory for their next gen cards.

It's not sad considering the 5850 hasn't had real competition until now.

The 5850 is worth every penny.
