Game industries are taking this stupid stuff to a complete new level. What happend to buying a copy of your game on CD/DVD and just have all the stuff unlocked without bullshit to play at least 20 hours some class to unlock all features and such. A payment of 15 euro guarantees you the fully unlocked class and some stupid flacket nobody gives a shit about.

It did, but people will always find illegal ways to subvert games. Most games have tools and websites to assist in exchanging items--DotA, TF2, Diablo 2, Path of Exile, etc.

All I have to say is New Zealand must have a strange definition of gamble.
Merriam Webster gets it right...
1a : to play a game for money or property
b : to bet on an uncertain outcome
2: to stake something on a contingency (see contingency 1) : take a chance
What makes it without a doubt gambling IMO is not knowing the outcome.
