I played it on my 8800GT with my Phenom II 820 and only 2GB ram... ran smooth as butter. I think the spacebar is used for WAY too many interactions. Can be rather annoying when you want to jump over something and you end up taking cover instead.
And no, its not just on earth. For example...

In the second part of the demo you go to a Salarian research lab where they have a female Krogan that's fertile. If you recall, the Krogans are a dying race due to the genophage limiting birth survival rates to 1 out of every 1000 or something like that, from the Krogan wars (which came after the Rachnai wars). If it plays out like the other to Mass Effect games, you'll be doing missions of interest for your other respective squadmates. Back to that said mission... I'm sure you end up going to the Krogan homeworld to try to get Wrex to help you... and i'm sure that leads to a mission involving the Krogan there as well.
Also, looks like Ashley got a make over haha
And... the demo let you select a few key "facts" from your other 2 ME games. One being who was killed, Ashley or Kaiden. Two being how many squad mates you've lost... I'm guessing this is related to the ending levels of ME2... where if you select the right members to go where they live or die. And finally, your character's origins... Earth born, spacer, etc and battle experience like sole survivor, war hero, and w/e the third one was. So just from those three options... I'm gonna say your actions from the 1st and 2nd do infact have some impact.
Oh, the council is in the 3rd one as well, at least in the demo. Dunno if it is the original from ME1 if you saved them, or if its a new one if you didn't... or if its a new one no matter what.
A final note, i'm curious to see what comes of the Rachnai Queen. If you save her, she promises to "Keep listening" and to come help when the "darkness" comes or something like that. Rachnai warrior allies fighting the reapers for you? sound's epic to me! XD
