I would guess another month or less based on how they normally delay the release of these boards.

I like Apex series as well only this year Maximus X Hero have some advantages.
Maybe better onboard sound card and pre mounted I/O shield protect from electrostatic dishacrges and look much better.
Probably is installation of Flash driver and other tool is much easier. I don't know why ASUS not use new patent pending Pre Mounted Shield on any Apex boards.
Only on Extreme and (Crosshair, Zenith, Rampage and now Maximus X Hero). Apex deserve same treatment.

I was abit disappointed by this when I swapped out an extreme for an apex board.

Why you changed Rampage for Apex?
You had some problems with Rampage VI Extreme?
I'm sure I would choose Apex this time, but because price, Extreme is better board no doubt only for most users will not have advantages compare to Apex.
And from side of OC Processors and Memory I think they are same.
I would definitely go for Apex because she cost same as I paid Extreme before 3 years.

They made mistake with 2 things.
1. No PreMounted Shield
2. No angled 24 pin connector as on Maximus IX Extreme or Crosshair VI Extreme

With these two things she would be even better.
Damn, I was close to find i7-7820X ES, than I would sold X99 and invest in Apex, she cost arround 400 euro in my region and later upgrade to 32GB 3200MHz memory. Probably Dominator Platinum as mine only faster and bigger kit.
