Hello, my current setup is this:

MoBo: ASUS P5E64 WS EVOLUTION
Mems: 4GB (2x2Gb GSKILL HZ (1600Mhz 7-7-7-18 [which I'm running at 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 because of some BSOD issues])
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 OC'd to 3.2 Ghz
GFX: GTX 460 1GB from Gigabyte (OC Edition)
....

So my question is, I'm thinking of buying 4 more gigs of ram for my comp but would like them to be also usable in a future LGA2011, Ivy Bridge upgrade.

What mems (frequency, latencies) would you recommend?

Regards

1600 MHz, 1.5v. Should get you 16GB for about $100, if you shop around?

Your HZ kit is a 1.8v kit?

It's actually 1.9v when running at X.M.P (1600Mhz 7-7-7-18).
At the rates im running it's 1.5v, so if I get a 1333Mhz CAS 9 kit with 1.5v I could use them in quad channel right?

Perhaps, but less likely because your current kit is so "old".

If it was a 1.65v kit, you would have better luck.

If you are manually setting all timings, then sure. Thing is, new kits are going to be a very different memory IC than what you have currently, and mixing ICs is what is really not recommended(no matter what platform). It can be hard to get two kits of the same IC to work together, nevermind different ones.

OK thanks.
I think I'll stick with 4 gigs for now and just get a whole new kit when I upgrade.
