Memory Errors G.Skill Trident Z RGB

Haven't attempted any O/C. The first time I removed and reseated modules. Ran Windows Memory Tests. All OK. Then it happened again. So I removed 64 Mbs of the 128. ASUS TUF X570 Plus, AMI UEFI BIOS Ver. 2.20.1271, BIOS Ver. 2607 with a Ryzen 7 3800X. Running again and gaming. ??

So what is your question?

Why the errors? It's a new build with Win 10 Home 64 bit. It was all good and normal. Then fail. Then fail again after another week or so of normal. Long beep. 3 short beeps.
The only software is MS Flight Sim 2020.

All parts were bought new? Test each stick individually, see if one is bad, if none of them are, either a MB issue or CPU issue. Does it only happen when using all 128GB, or when using 64GB too?

I haven't checked each module yet. All new components. It's only the second time it's happened. I just had that with my old computer with all new matching memory and 1 module failed. RMA. Git 'R Done.

My guess is either one or more of the ram sticks is bad, one or more of the ram slots is bad, or your CPU has a hard time, or simply cannot handle 128GB. If it becomes something CPU related, as the IMC is on the CPU, would need to play with volts. Can you link to the RAM you bought? Also, are using using XMP/DOCP?

Each module checked OK individually. All 4 modules reinstalled and running Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool 'Extended' tests.

All settings have been on AUTO. None were changed. Still in AUTO/DEFAULT mode.

Try out memtest86 or memtest86+ too, and try one stick in each slot, to test each slot individually.

This usually doesn't matter much, but since you're at the maximum rated amount of memory (128GB) I would check the qualified vendor memory list to make sure your memory is on there. If it's not, check the memory maker's list of qualified motherboards.

IIRC, all those lists are, are RAM that the MB manufacturer has tested, but does not mean that other kits will not work, so doesn't mean much.

Prior to a retail release. That is correct.
AFAIK they are not updated after the fact.

True. It wasn't listed on the ASUS QVL but listed on G.Skill's QVL. Logic is new stuff coming out all the time. Many "kits" to be tested. Like trying an aftermarket HSF for modules as tall as G. Skill's with the heat spreaders. Got to watch for clearances I learned. Noctua NH-D15 for example might not fit. No definitive answer yet on that option.

Passmark Memtest86 V8.4 Pro is now running. Results pending. 0819 10/11/2020

When you are experiencing the crashes, what are you doing? I realized I never really saw that being listed, nor asked.

Edit: also can you update your system specs so we can see your current setup. Thanks!

Updated just now and BEEP codes at boot up. Memtest continues @0941.

It took 26 hours to run and I got the results I was looking for.

ZERO ERRORS.

Checking each module in each DIMM slot and the second module in the seventh slot failed. Then they all failed in all slots. Motherboard. shhttt.

Video card. Remove. Reseat. Reboot. Okay.

My bad. I had wrong information on the BEEP codes. 1 long 3 short is video NOT Memory on an ASUS TUF X570 Mobo. Don't you just love learning the hard way? I will now open a beer and try to forget about it for a while.
