Can anyone share with me some information on how to test VRAM on ATI cards. Like mats and mods for nvidia memory. I need to diagnose two cards I have here that have all voltages present but no display and I am leaning towards faulty memory. Not sure how to check it to be sure. Much appreciated.

Heres an idea, put the card in a system with igp/apu or in a system with a known working card. Put monitor on known working card and boot up,start gpu-z and switch tab to non working card, get screenshot. Then get pic of white stickers/bar codes on card back or side of heatsink near pcie blade. Then pulk card apart and take a pic of 1 ram chip close up and then all of the ram chips, on front and back of card(if any).

Post all screenshots and pics here.

Hi thanks for the reply. The reason I am after a specific test is because, like nvidia cards, won't install drivers if you have a bad memory chip. No drivers. No gpuz. No information on anything. I assume ati cards will exhibit same issues. Also if the memory is corrupted it will cause a crash, even through internal graphics. The solution is to disable the card in safe mode. But then I am back to where I started. No information. And more importantly I need to identify which memory chip has failed so I can change one rather than all the memory chips, to save me the hassle of reballing them all.

Regards.
Matt.

Sorry to add to my previous post. Its not about these exact cards per say. I have a host of cards coming in for repairs and this is something I need to address on AMD cards. Thanks again

Look up Eli Tech

Most of time cards are bricked due to wrong bios used
