Okay, it appears that this week I haven't been having luck with my hardware and devices. This new issue arised out of the blue. To be real brief, I bought a new Headphone (Microphone attatched) and I was recording videos and commentating. Everything worked flawlessly. However, yesterday I went to go try and record and now I cannot hear any audio or feedback from the headphones I just bought. My question is how can I fix this and has this happen to anybody else before?

Sound: Realtek 7.1 HD
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA785GT-UD3H

What I do know:
- All audio drivers are up-to-date
- My motherboard BIOS is up-to-date
- My soundcard still works because I can still hear music from my 2.1 speakers (even with my headphones plugged in.

What I don't understand:
- I plug my headphone into my front jacks and nothing pick's up. [All my USB Ports work]
- I plug my headphones into the back jacks and Windows picks it up, but still no sound or feedback.
- This just happen within 48 hours. I didn't download anything within those 48 hours.

so yea..

All feedback is greatly appreciated! :toast:

Edit: I am going to try System Restore.

Hi,

If you're not using Realtek drivers, you will have to go to "Playback devices" in Windows and see properties for your soundcard outputs.

If you're using Realtek's driver, open it's control panel.
You will see status of all jacks (including front ones) and you may be able to find the problem there.

I assumed you're using Vista or 7...

You've said that you get no sound from you headset when plugged in the back port...
Are you plugging it exactly where your 2.1 speakers were ?
If yes, then something is indeed wrong with the headset.

Cheers,

FIXED! I feel like an idiot. My audio cable that goes into the Motherboard (F_AUDIO) wasn't connected fully, hence no microphone or headphone. So, I opened my case and viola, I saw that the cable wasn't fully connected!

Thanks! :nutkick:
