Microsoft Introduces Copilot+ PCs

Didn't we have this before?

Paul Thurrott just wrote an article on his site calling naysayers alarmists and that we don't have cause to worry, because MS has offered assurances that it's all encrypted and local and we just need to read the technical docs and opt-out if we don't like it. Sure, it's not like big tech has ever tried to pull a fast one on us before.

Also, Bing and its web Copilot are down this morning. I wonder if that's a coincidence?

I mean if it's local, fine. I can even believe that if they really do publish technical docs. I still don't need nor want it, and sincerely wonder who does.

EDIT: I take it all back, about not caring re privacy:

Its locally generated content, the AI monster must be fed - corporate has gotten it into their minds that its a good idea to let us pay the AI tax by 1. selling us a keyboard button and then 2. creating the input for their models in our homes and on our power bill.

Its basically everything crypto was, except now its truly pointless for us. We get answers. A shortcut. Not a millionth cent of a bitcoin, no, you get a bit of pointless data you could have found yourself, and by not finding it yourself, you've also kept yourself a bit less intelligent.

I've got my popcorn ready lol
This is rapidly turning into another massive PR fail and tech bubble.
