Microsoft Outlook "2024" Set to Replace Mail, Calendar & People Apps

it doesn't support multiple accounts and inboxes
That's false, I currently have private and work accounts in it and both work just fine

Office 2007 is still my favorite version. To bad it won't work with Win 10 or 11.

It works on 10 at least. Until last year I used it too, but the reg edit for allowing multiple instances of Excel didn't work anymore (or I got it wrong) and so I got Office 2021 from one of those grey market TPU always pushes (or used to?) and Office 2021 is so much better. Handles resolution scaling better, simpler menus for most functions, cleaner UI, and most importantly, you can have multiple instances of Excel running.

I'm still annoyed that links clicked in Outlook 365 on windows have (in the latest update) started ignoring the LEGALLY MANDATED browser choice selection you've made and opening links in Edge, and complaining it can't find Edge if you've disabled it.

Is Chrome or Firefox your default browser, set because Microsoft were forced by both the EU Commission and the US DoJ to honour a user's right to use other browsers? They've been fined a cumulative total of mutliple billion dollars. I'm not sure if we're at 5 billion yet, but there are multiple international cases over the years and almost all of them are $9-digit fines per case.

The DoJ even threatened to disband Microsoft and split them into multiple independent companies if they failed to comply with the ruling, and IMO it's a shame they didn't because it would have set a precedent that would have deterred other companies like Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta etc from being the anti-consumer, monopolistic, unethical d*cks that they are today.

Hard disagree, the UI for office 2021 is full of fluff, specifically the system menus that use the garbage "modern" UI that has no defined buttons or spaces. I find it to be a huge disruption to any dedicated workflow.

Office 2010 seems to have struck the best balance between a convenient UI and productivity, although 2007 is my favorite and 2003 is a monster if you are used to it.

I dunno, my Excel at least got a lot better with 2021 than with 2007. I used 2007 a lot but never really got into the ribbons, so it might be that. Word too just works better out of the box for me. And I mean yeah just a vast space with text instead of buttons or any kind of identifier is bad, but - and I feel like I have said this a lot the last few days - that ship has sailed. The dream is dead. And at this point I actually prefer them over something like say LibreOffice.
