Xp was the worst when it came to security.
it was the best at the time. didnt think i had to spell that out. ;)

Win2k was also built on the NT code set. XP was an improvement and extension of 2000, which is why their drivers are interchangeable.
yep, xp was just prettier with a little more security.... where have i read that before. lol.

Well, lets be honest, while telemetry is a privacy concern to some, Win10 works so well because there is telemetry.

My enterprise copy works great without it alltogether...

Because telemetry gathered from home users helps enterprise editions too...

I doubt it has much impact on LTSB, given it guts the store and that's where 90% of the telemetry is gathered for future development or whatever.

The point is you don't need telemetry in prinicipal. We used to do fine without it, before users became a Q&A department.

Well, users are a QA department. It's literally impossible to make flawless bug free anything. If company gets feedback, they'll fix it. If they don't, they'll have perpetually broken software. If you ever developed any piece of software you should know that.

You're talking to a programmer Rej.

That you can do the exact same thing with a Q&A department was my chief point.

[...] Win7 were riddled with idiotic glitches all over the place. No such thing in Win10 anymore. I literally don't remember experiencing any glitch for last several weeks or months.

Can you give any examples of this ? In the absence of any evidence to the contary we have to assume you're just talking out of your ass.
I'm also not fond of anecdotes that have been posted here I want a comparsion. How often did Win 10 have a major bug or what is the crash ratio between them given the same time period ?

From what I understand telemetry is not super useful, sure you can make some predictions using telemetry but what is the actual IMPACT of that ? Is it substantial or just minor, did they make changes that people hated or loved based on their telemetry data? In addition to that I think telemetry should be opt out. It's horrible that your forced to give them your operating system habits and can't disable the spying. Crash reports however are a different beast.

and yet you still use windows 10. I am so tired of the "enthusiast" circle jerk
if you dont like windows 10 use something else only then will microsoft take any notice. I hate windows 10 posted from a windows 10 box means jack all.

Hell, Microsoft would be infinitely better served by setting up the "Insiders" program to allow for discounted versions of products but at the understood cost of telemetry for beta testing purposes and leaving the general public alone. That kind of scheme is what makes sense ethically.

That was both defeatist and pointless.. We user have an absolute right to privacy and the right demand it. This right is not being respected and because governments are not doing their job in a proper way we are left to fend for ourselves. And some are very passionate about doing so.
