Minecraft 1.8 has been released today and there's been a bunch of changes. Some of you may have already played the pre-release of this update but now it is official and all it takes is a "normal" update to play.

I have a vanilla server all setup and ready to go. This is pure survivor/adventure however I have a little information to help you get started. Wherever you initially spawn I have some coordinates for you to get to. (Hit F3 to bring up the information)

Stronghold (some are building around it already)

X: -555 (the - is important)
Z: 354

Villlage (not too far from the stronghold)

X: -655
Z: 19

The journey there by foot isn't a walk in the park. I suggest you make yourself a few tools before getting on and be prepared to make a quick shelter in case it gets dark. There are more mobs now and the creepers are relentless.

Server: erocker.dyndns.org

Everyone on TPU is welcome, PM me to get whitelisted. Have fun and here a a few pics:

I've only just got into this Minecraft lark and i started in 1.7,when the Humble Bundle 3 was giving free access for 14 days, i bought it properly soon after 1.8.1 and noticed the new ravines and NPC Villages that's been seen on his page. i'd like to know if my world (from 1.7) would incorporate these new features or would i have to start from scratch to get the benefits of the update?

Your world will work, however in order to see the new villages, biomes, etc, you will need to travel to "unexplored lands".

Oh, 1.9 prerelease is out! Updating server in a few minutes.
