Yes it can be.

You can install DX11 without installing all of the components of DX9. What in Hades is pes2010 anyways?

At any rate, try to remove and reinstall the program. The initial installer should detect any missing DX extensions, and recommend that you install them.

my next question will be if after install directx9 I will have lose of performance from other dx11 games.

W7 doesn't have updated Dx oob. You need to update it. Use link given by AsRock. It's online installer it will update all the files that need to be updated.

No, the DX9 installation wouldn't cause any performance lost in DX11 games. So it's safe to update/install it.

Just use the DXwebinstaller and it will fix all files for directX.

to explain:

Microsoft still releases updates for directX 9.0, even though DX11 is 'old' by now.

They have a generic installer/updater for DirectX (that updates all versions of DX, 9/10/11 all at once) - but for some reason its labelled as a 9.0c installer, and not on windows update.

Normally the game would ask to install/update its required directX version when its installed, and thats why people dont have this problem often.

tempted to write another one of my stickies/guides now, this problem always crops up.

Most likely you did have DX9 installed, you were just missing d3dx9_30.dll (which the game was looking for explicitly).
A quick search of my system shows that I have 20 versions of the file ... d3dx9_24.dll through d3dx9_43.dll

chucked up a sticky.

Should give all the details people need if they run into this issue in the future.

ASrock posted the first link, working, directly from microsoft. That being said why are there several other links?

Try and read atleast the recent posts before posting your own.

Thx Mussels for the guide.
