I have a GIGABYTE B450 DS3H WIFI mobo. Initially I installed a Ryzen 3 3200G with two 8GB DIMMs of 2133mHZ G.SKILL memory. It did not recognize the memory. I reinstalled the CPU and it then ran fine and recognized the installed memory which was installed in the first two DIMM slots (DDR4_1 and DDR4_3). I then decided to make it run a bit faster by installing a Ryzen 5 5600G with an additional two 8GB DIMMs of 2133mHZ G.SKILL memory (all memory DIMMs are identical). Again, it would not recognize the memory installed in the first two DIMM slots, but it did recognize the memory in DIMM slots 2 and 4 and ran fine. I reinstalled the CPU but the issue persisted. I removed and cleaned the CPU socket and DIMM slots with a vacuum cleaner, reinstalled everything, fired it up but the issue persisted.
I sent it into GIGABYTE and they said the AM4 socket was badly damaged and needed replacement. They sent pictures of the socket which did not look the way it did when I sent it in. They said they could fix it for $100; I can buy a new board for $79.99; I requested that they send the board back to me and should receive it within about 5 days.
Please see attached pictures.
Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?
Thank you.
