Hello everyone! I need some help with modding vbios.

I successfully flashed the vBIOS on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 16 with RTX 2060 MAX-Q using vBIOS files from other manufacturers (Lenovo, Asus) via OMGVflash, achieving a max power limit of 90W (the stock limit was 65W). After installing driver 528.24, which has a bug allowing power limit adjustments on laptops, I was able to set an enforced power limit of 90W.

I wanted to ask: Is it possible to modify my original firmware to unlock the default power limit to 115W (or higher/lower) and possibly other tweaks (voltage limit), so that this limit works on newer drivers? As I understand, replicating the unlocked power limit from driver 528.24 on newer drivers isn’t feasible. I also heard about tdp mobile tweaker, but didn’t tried it by now.

I’ve attached my original firmware extracted via GPU-Z and screens before/after activating afterburner and power limit,+212core, +515memory). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! Your card Seems to be compatible with the TDP tweaker, however remember that you will need to have a SPI flasher (like CH341A) and a second device with your old bios dump to flash back to your main computer in case your gpu actually fails to properly boot for any reason.

This is your bios being properly readt by the TDP tweaker. I am using v1.13 because the newest version (v1.21) Seems to have problems detecting temperature values. I'll attach bothversions so you can try both out yourself. Remmeber, if you do end up going through with this its your own choice and decision, you can only hold yourself responsible for any damages that may occur from this.

Also remember that because your gpu is MAX-Q version, your gpu's VRMS will be much weaker and its only up for debate how much power they might be able to handle. I will not give you a specific value for you to not go above because I have no idea how your VRMs look like but Be careful, next thing you know you give it 150 watts the work with and 2 minutes into a game you hear a pop and the laptop doesnt turn on anymore.

Best of luck!
