I can only assume that, this being related to the computer industry, GaAs stands for "Gallium as a service".

Edit: crap, I shouldn't be giving new ideas to these people. Please ignore.
Gallium Arsenide.

Ironically, Tellurium would be an excellent replacement for Silicon if it were not so rare..

... yes, that is literally what the post you quoted said? 1/2 = 0.5.

It looked like either 1 nm or 2 nm, like 1-2 nm, written that way. It didn't look like a fraction.

How else would you write a fraction on a keyboard? I get the misunderstanding, but there's no way of putting it differently unless you use special characters like ½, which aren't necessarily easy to type (my phone keyboard does it easily though!).

Perhaps " 1/2 "? That's how I type fractions.

@lexluthermiester Thought you might enjoy:
Numerical calculations of CL-20 chains and networks' electronic characteristics revealed that they were wide-bandgap semiconductors.

This is from the Wiki page of Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane, which happens to be a fairly sensitive explosive almost twice as powerful as TNT. More info about this fascinating chemical can be found here.

That would bring a whole new level of excitement to overclocking contests!

Ok, so after some research (just because, ok?) the amount of HNIW (Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane, say that three times fast) that could fit in the assumed volume of a 12900K die would have a similar amount of energy as a small firecracker. Just about enough to lift your ln2 pot and let some smoke out.
That was interesting. How does it relate here?
Simply that we were talking about materials for semiconductors. Also I thought it was mildly amusing.

Also, after you have *exhausted* the periodic table, and all known simple compounds after that, then hexanitrohexadecimalwurstisooctane (written from my memory) may be the next thing to try.

Yep.

Completely agree. I can't see myself upgrading from my 5800X+6900XT in the next half decade, unless something breaks. I'll likely be moving to a higher resolution monitor from my current 1440p60 one, but that's more for work than gaming - FSR, or just running at non-native resolution in games (1080p with integer scaling should look good on a 2160p panel) will tide me over there.
You are limiting your enjoyment with a 60hz panel and that hardware.

That sounds perfect! Not enough to kill anyone, but enough to make damn sure you know when someone is pushing their chip just that little bit too hard :laugh:
