Hello i am upgrading my pc with
i5 6600k and Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3000mhz
but i can not decide between these motherboards:
ASUS Z170-A 148E
MSI Z170-A PRO 104E (there is in the list because its cheap)
GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-Gaming 3-EU 146E

I will OC maybe till 4.5Ghz because i have a CM hyper 212 evo,
gaming, a little photoshop and maybe i am not going to use sli bacause for now i own a gtx970,
maybe later i ll bay a gtx 1070 or higher. If the mb supports it i ll use a faster ram 3200-3400mhz.

Dont double post threads please

They all seem about the same to me except the MSI mobo doesn't have digital audio out but I've never used a digital audio output on my computer. So I guess I would go with the cheapest one unless you like the look of one more then the others.

I went with that asus board for my "server" build. i'd pick the asus or gigabyte boards over the msi. had a coupla bad experiences with msi. ymmv

depending on what you have now. you might consider just upgrading the video card instead of cpu/board/memory.

I dont care about the look i care for oc abilities (4.5-4.6Ghz) descent connection ports and of course value for money.
I dont think that i will need usb 3.1 in the next 2-3 years.

There is no acceptable reason that any of those boards wouldn't reach that clock (asuming you dont get a lemon cpu)

Check out CaDaveCa's board reviews!

I have a phenom ii x4 965, GA-770ta-ud3 and ddr3 1600 so the upgrade is innevitable...
I always had gigabyte mbs but with the last one i barely hit 3,8ghz with phenom. So i think if asus is better.

As in my previous post, most decent boards can get you the clock you want. There are diferences for sure, but thats when you are pushing your clocks and voltages. 4.5 isnt much of a push.
You CPU, however, is a big factor. The type of cpu and the specific chip determine a lot.

A phenom 965 is entirely different from a 6600k, down to the arcitecture used. Therefore it behaves different
