If you have not bought the processor, get Z77 or Z87.

Plenty of choices for Z77 depending on your taste, but generally the ones which will get mentioned heavily are Extreme4/6, GD65, UD5H, D3H, TZ77EX3 (rarely).

For Z87, there are a lot of other options too, mostly similar to the Z77 ones like UD3H, Extreme4, Hifi Z87X 3D, M VI Hero, etc.

Pick one which suits your budget, and don't go Z68.

I want Z87 setup but i am getting the above ones really cheap i already owe Rampage III Gene thinking of switching or rather keep it. Not looking to spend cash on new stuff now these are all used.

Rampage III Gene is Socket 1366? If you can pick up a 1366 processor for cheap (under $100) go ahead, it will serve you well (as long as you are happy without USB 3.0 and Sata 6Gbps).

For you, this proc may be the best choice - Intel Core i5-3570 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo...
If the Z68 mobo has the latest BIOS installed, an Ivy Bridge proc will drop right in and boot up, and perform better than a Sandy Bridge CPU.

Well most of the people are recommending me the z68 ext.7 but whats the use of it if i dont use its features! and wht specifically this cpu?????

Well, you don't need an unlocked CPU because you're not overclocking, and the i5-3570 has the best performance per dollar of all the locked Intel 3rd gen CPUs. I have the K version and it's amazing even at stock speeds.
