Mozilla added its regular incremental update to the Firefox web-browser. With this release, the group fixed many bugs found with its previous version 3.0.5, which don't necessarily translate into security flaws. As many as seven critical thru mild security vulnerabilities were fixed, that includes a crash with memory corruption issue, and extraction of data using SessionStore files. The list of security fixes addressed can be found here. The release also fixes several bugs as listed in the updated bug list. The release also improves the ability of scripted commands to work properly with plugins, one of the major bugs fixed. Fore more information, refer to the release notes page for version 3.0.6. Firefox can be downloaded from the server closest to you, from the Firefox homepage. Existing users would be updated automatically.

3.0.5 was fine for me, but anything after 2.0.0.14 was quite bad. Even the last 2.0.0.20 crashed easily and made me jump finally to 3.0.x.

Word about Firefox 2, I had lot of problems with all versions above 2.0.0.14. I also had an issue with 3.0.5, which caused my download window to crash from time to time.

I'm using this 3.0.6 version now, hopefully I'll get to see improvements in regards to bugs.

Finally a new version. We will see how it performs!

im waitin for 3.1, tested the beta its very fast. f.e. in the acid test. ;)

3.1 is more than just fast in the acid test. ;) It uses a completely differently JavaScript engine -- it's several orders of magnitude faster than anything released to this date (other than Google Chrome). Seriously, compared to older versions of Firefox (and IE, and Safari, and sorry, even Opera), Firefox 3.1 is going to be like a Ferrari compared to a Ford Pinto. The speed is honestly that much different.

WOW... the servers are extremely busy. Im getting 10kb/s.

And honestly, when was IE considered "fast" in the past lustrum? I remember years ago when I was using the Verizon Yahoo browser that came with my ISP subscription, every single time I opened IE6, something bad would happen. Computer would crash, a bunch of pop ups would show up out of nowhere, tasks would automatically be ended... wth? Then I upgrade to IE7 and several applications wouldn't work anymore... I had to restore PC a couple of days back to get back on track.

I also like Opera, it really IS a good browser. AOL browser isn't bad either, I used it for a while. As for Safari, I just don't like it, I don't know why but I just don't but I still have it installed in case I ever need it. The only major one I haven't tried is Google Chrome, but I will soon. In the meantime, I'll stick with Firefox because it seems to have everything I need for now.

tell me about it. I never had issues with firefox till 3.0.5 I mean it wasnt really bad but it would crash for no reason.

Same for me. Used 3.0.5 for a month, no crashes, freezes, whatsoever. It must be ur add-ons or drivers etc
