MSI's popular and intuitive VGA overclocking software Afterburner has gone mobile, don't worry, it's not going to let you overclock or fry anything up inside your smartphone, but let you overclock graphics cards in your bench setup wirelessly. Designed for popular smartphone platforms such as Android, the Afterburner mobile application connects to the system using direct IP access via wireless. We assume that the desktop Afterburner process needs to be running in the background. The application takes advantage of touchscreens on smartphones, giving you slider-based control. Apart from controlling clock speeds, voltages, and fan speeds, the application also lets you monitor everything the desktop end of Afterburner is able to monitor.

nice! it should work well with Asus' BT remote in my P8P67 Deluxe.

will i be able to find this on the app store?

would be better if it let you o/c the phone as well though, i mean there are already apps that let you do that so why not just make it one big universal overclocker?

What a waste imo. What's wrong with just running the program on your monitor?

you can o/c without exiting the game, also if you accidently o/c to far and your pc freezes you can just back it back down

you can also monitor the temps remotely

For the first 10 seconds.... pretty sweet
Next minute.... kind of cool
After that... meh

don't bother trying people its not on the app store....................................yet...

This is great for extreme overclockers and on the fly adjustments... LIKE!

wow.. now i just found one more reason to take android.
its interesting concept and app too

I have an LCD on my primary machine just to monitor temps while gaming full screen. Now this turns my smartphone into an LCD for all my other machines. Very handy indeed when something else is using the monitor, like a game, so you can't just run the program on said monitor.

  what next ? overclocking your mobile ? , stupid if you ask me what a waste :D:rolleyes:

I see this useful only in cases when you overclocked the graphic card too far. With this tool you don't have to restart the system, you just back it up a bit with a phone. Assuming the system doesn't lock up, just starts to artefact. And to monitor graphic card vital signs without using OSD.

How exactly will the frozen PC respond to the "remote" ?

Haha... right?

I think this is also geared towards those that benchmark.. For example Maybe in Vantage, Jane nash could handle faster clocks than that Calico space scene, you you keep it higher in JN, then back them down a bit for Calico.

cause its the gfx card thats frozen if you o/c it too far, i'm fairly confident the pc works in the background

My Hardisk shuts down. My USB gets disconnected. MY CPU temp drops to less than idle. Yep, this thing is 100% frozen .. Might be only my PC though. I tell you this machine of mine's got a mind of it's own.

No, it's not just you. If my cursor won't move, my machine is 100% locked up. That's the normal behavior.

At any rate, this is brilliant. Can't wait to try it out.

So is this app coming out for iOS anyone???

i asked for ios and they said they are working on it but it might be released after the android version

Yes because what I have always wondered is if temps fluxuate while I am taking a dump . . . and then go back to normal when I come back.. . . absolutely pointless!

Just because you can't think of a use for it, doesn't mean it is pointless. We have already given you examples of how it can be used, therefor it is not pointless.
