Some people may still be looking at getting 980Ti's, which will still be high performers for awhile, rather than take a second mortgage for some of the new Nvidia cards.
The Golden Edition (which is really copper- except for the gold dragon image on the back of the backplate) is currently on sale on Newegg for $529.99. That is $140.00 off the regular price!
Additionally, there is a $30 MIR, which puts the card about where 980's sold a year ago.
